ur a pussy no offence im 15 been cutting and splitting wood with an axe for as long as i can remember and i could cut that tree down no problem with out breaking a sweat and i would have it down before u get a notch in it

Man these guys are HARSH... but there is something to be said of your technique, the axe chops best at a 45 degree angle, it did seem to be pretty sharp.. also the face cut needs to only be one third of the tree for you to safely drop the tree in the desired direction. There is so much to falling a tree SAFELY. That frankly everyone intending to drop a tree should know.. That tree could have seriously hurt you. Please for your sake get yourself educated. Good effort.

Pine is a soft wood. It is easy to chop in comparison to hardwoods like oak or walnut.

The wood is not the problem, its your form thats making things difficult.
