  • Just seeing this now haha. Well... you DID tell her to straighten up the living and she DID. You said nothing about her bedroom :P

  • @reizendefee549 Yes, technically, she did what we told her to. ha ha

  • nina makes me smile, all the time.. ;)))

  • LOL i used to just put everything in a box and cover it with a towel and run away

  • @LittoBUbbo ha ha That works, too!

  • i clean like that too!!

  • haha that usually how I get my stuff cleaned (bad teenager lol) cuz I just want to get to drawing my Manga XD;;

    Nina's so cute

    but when I do that my mom yells at me she always has (especially for school I mean if I don't get a good grade I'm dead meat!) but my brother is taught nicely. I always found that unfair but then again I'm the older sibling eue;;;

  • @NadiaEveStudio I know a LOT of older siblings who say the same thing, that their younger siblings got better treatment from their parents. It's definitely not fair, but at least you know you're not alone.

  • @geofg Well my mother was an older sibling herself and she always tells me that her father told her "If I raise you right your younger sibling will follow in your footsteps"

It's all about being a good influence i guess XD

  • lol I kinda knew she just threw it all in there.. coz I'd do the same thing if it were me. still good job though, at least the mess is "hidden" lol =]

  • it's a tough day at work and class today but this...has made my day. Thanks! :)))

  • Awesome videos :) Nina's very adorable! her vids always make me smile. lets hope when i have my child someday i'd have all these great experiences teaching and learning :)

  • how do you get her to straighten up (more or less) on her own with no yelling or anything !?? Now that is amazing parenting! Kudos to you for raising such a great kid! she's such a sweet kid!

  • @eqon1234 We praise her a lot, and we sometimes use bribes, like, if you clean up your room, you can have a snack! ha ha

Yelling doesn't work too well with Nina.

    And, thanks!

  • @geofg It also helps if you make house or any other chore look and feel more like games than actual chores. Worked for me.

  • @corle1 Yes, I agree completely!

  • I'm sure they can find more interesting sites than this one. And, anyway, this is one of the least viewed of all her vids.

  • Funny, cute! She's so fun!

  • lol tht's soo cute!

    <33

  • Great music! Sounds like the Allman Brothers? Love your videos.

  • Thanks! Yeah, Blue Sky by the Allman Bros.

  • Nice one!

So would you say Nina enjoys cleaning & keeping her room tidy?

  • You're lucky. Nina seems to be a very smart, responsible child. I actually work at a daycare (my main group are one and two year olds, sometimes threes) and some of those children would blow a gasket if you asked them to pick up toys.

I love how Nina always seems to match your reaction in all of these videos. I would definitely say she's a Daddy's girl

  • Yeah, she's pretty good about cleaning up if we do it with her. The sensei at her daycare are really strict, so I guess they've helped train her.

And, yeah, I guess she's kind of a Daddy's girl. I guess I spoil her too much.

  • What a thriller! He, he, he! ;-)

  • you must be treating her like a little princess....what a cute lucky girl

  • Yeah, we are older parents with only one child, so we probably spoil her a bit too much. We are more like grandparents than parents.

  • i don't think anybody in this world can say no to that face

  • She's such a cutie pie! Nina such an incredibly smart kid! Her speech makes me miss learning Japanese in university now.

  • What a cutie!

  • Thanks! And thanks for subscribing!

  • awe she's so cute!

i love how in all your videos you talk to her in english and then she replies in japanese xD

    very cute

  • Thanks! I hope she will reply in English someday, but at least she can understand my English for now.

  • yeah ^^

maybe you should try asking her to reply in english?

  • I do make her reply in English some times, but I don't want to push her too much or she may come to hate English. I think if she had some English speaking friends, that would be best...

  • So sweeeeeeeeeet;D

  • Thanks! And thanks for subscribing!

  • nina is adorable, and helping me out with japanese ;]] thank you

  • Nina's always glad to help!

  • Just a great way to teach your child how to clean up, I think. My parents used to start putting my toys into a black bin bag, and say they'll have to throw it all away if I don't clean up ;) Nina is so adorable and you're wonderful parents - I'm learning a lesson from you,and hoping to have as cute kid as Nina some day with my Japanese boyfriend. ^^

  • If it comes to that, we might have to try that with Nina some day too. The cleaning up she does in this video is still the exception. Most of the time, one of us ends up doing it.

So, you and your boyfriend are already talking about kids? If you feel the time is right, I definitely recommend it.

  • love the song! (i used the same song on a video i made a while back for my friend, but it has other kiddos in it so i didn't upload it on here)

aw, she is just such a sweet little girl! i'm glad to see you have a "happy little working song" as they say. :)

that is so funny that she piled them up in the other room! nice job you two! lol!

  • Yeah, nothing like some Southern rock to give a video that nice breezy feeling.

Ha ha. Yeah, Nina came up with her "happy little working song" her self. Like Shuggie, she tends to be a pretty happy kid.

  • Oh, I should have known how well she cleans up. Too,too cute!!!!! What a face!!!

  • I guess we are pretty strict about making her keep her toys in her room, but she seems to understand the idea of cleaning up.

  • Oh tricky, tricky Nina! Clever little critter! And how could anyone be upset when she is that kawaii?

Wow, her hair is really getting long! Very pretty!

  • Yeah, pretty hard to be mad at Nina.

We've only cut her bangs so far, and she was born with a pretty good head of hair to begin with.

  • Hm-m, she cleans like you Hey co-chan.

  • What, when I was her age or nowadays? *grin*

  • When you were her age..............couldn't you just squeeze her? Nina is quite the little trickster!!!!! I love the way she skips and sings down the hallway.

  • I have to confess *sneaky look* sometimes I still clean that way. LOL! Yes, she is a huggable trickster, that is true!

  • haha, she is such a smart cookie. She did what you told her to, by putting the stuff in her room.

By the way, even though if she doesn't like to using English much now, she'll definitely have great benefits by listening to you when she grows up. Don't give up on it. She'll thank you when she is older for pushing this through :). I used to not like going to Chinese school and learn how to read the words, but now I am older, I am greatful that my parents kept encouraging me to go.

  • Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep speaking to her in English, and hope it all works itself out someday. At least she is used to my using English so she doesn't seem to mind it. So, are you totally fluent in reading Chinese?

  • Cool cool, so she understands english but responds in japanese?

  • Yeah. I guess because she knows I can understand her Japanese, she's not motivated to use English more.

  • she was so adorable on this video.ouch...Actually, I know this channel from Kitty and moving me forward to the main channel then I saw all your pic's on the link that u put there. Those are an amazing photos. What an art pictures, seems was doing by professional photographer, ;-)

  • Thanks for stopping by! Actually many of my subscribers have come from Kitty's recommendation. And thanks for looking at my photos! It has been a hobby for years, so when Nina was born, it was natural to just photograph her. Before that, I mostly just took scenic photos.

  • I wish cleaning up was that easy!

    :P

  • That's the beauty of an extra room! Throw stuff in, close door!

  • Haha, if only we had one of those. My mom would fix it up anyway; she's a "clean freak". I checked out your website with all the picture albums. It's really cool that you have all those experiences saved up to look back to.

    =)

  • Yeah, between movies and pictures we will certainly have plenty to look back on. Ha ha.

I guess I'm a "clean freak" too. Maybe it has something to do with getting older.

  • hahhahahaha lol* if i were nina, my mom's gonna be crazy~

ur such a nice dad Geof!

  • Wow, your mom sounds pretty stict. I actually think we are pretty strict with Nina, in that we don't let her keep toys in the living room. As long as she keeps stuff in her room, I don't care too much.

So, are you very neat now? Would your mother approve?

  • Hahahahah that's how I cleaning stuff up, pile all the junks in 1 room and closed the door and locked it! Carissa has the butterfly teether like the one nina has. She's getting so big & cute!!! she will turn 3 soon huh?

  • Yeah, we have an "extra room" too, though it is supposed to be our guest room, so we need to stop putting stuff in there, like Nina does with her room. Nina still likes to play with that butterfly teether in the bath sometimes. She'll be three in August. Thanks for noticing!

  • LOL>>>LOL.....LOL. I love this clip. I used to hide my stuff under my bed during clean up time. So everything look clean on the surface. Nina is such a good girl for cleaning up. Gotta give her credit for the effort.

Sara at this point loves to make a mess for her Mama to clean up. I hope one of these day Sara will clean up like Nina. I will be thrilled even if she hides the mess else where. Great job Nina!

  • Yeah, we're pretty pleased with her cleaning skills, though we can't really take credit. Most of that comes from her daycare, where they are strict about making the kids clean up, put their shoes in the right place, etc. At home, we had to tell Nina we wouldn't go to the park until she straightened up to motivate her. I'm sure you'll be able to do that with Sara by the time she's Nina's age.

  • Ora? is that what you said? Nina is such a silly duckling! But! she got them out of the living room~! lol

    tinamay

  • Not quite sure what I said. It may not have even been a word, but after living in Japan so long, even my expressions have a Japanese ring to them.

Yeah, hard to complain really, given that Nina cleans at all. A lot of families with kids I know have basically given up and let their homes go to hell, but we, being older parents, try to keep the place pretty clean.

  • I know what that word is. It's like a whoah kinda expression, like when you're shocked or caught off guard.

  • I did the same thing when I was young ^^

  • ha ha, Nina-chan's laugh when you discovered her mischievous dumping of her toys <3 Priceless. In the beginning, is the little toy the tiger kid that potty trains kids on tv? He looked familiar (._.')

  • Yep, that's old Shamajiro of toilet training fame.

  • wow she's cleans like me! XD

    I loved your reaction! :D

  • I think Nina just does these things to hear Papa's reaction.

  • thats still a better job of cleaning up than i ever did as a kid :P

  • Yeah, me too!

  • Hahahahhaa... *favorited*

Maybe dad should buy a big box for your so you can put all your toys there Nina! :D

  • I never thought of that, but you're right. That would probably solve the problem. Thanks, Kitty.

  • I love mischievous Nina! Her laugh is so cute. I can't wait to tell Mokka to clean all her toys and stuff like that. Thanks for sharing Geof!

  • Daycare helps a lot. They run it like boot camp, so she already has "basic training" in cleaning up and so on, down. She still gets a little lax at home, though.

  • lol, the little skamp. haha

  • She's tricky, that one.

  • Nina's english is sounding more natural in this one!

Sooo adorable! She has a great sense of humour ^^

  • I've been trying to encourage her to use more English. Hopefully, she'll get more comfortable with it.

  • haha she is so cute!! i love it how she just throws them on the floor and then laughs because she knows she's not meant to do that ^___^

  • Yeah, I think she enjoys seeing Papa's reaction.
