@ dr donker.. great band and a great tune but if you can play very well at all you should be able to figure their songs out easily man !! this song is just...D, A, E . you should catch it from there
I often feel as if nobody but me knows this awesome band. Was a fan from the get-go. just happened to be living in FL when the local rock station was promoting them - new on the scene. Fell in love with this song. Still one of my alltime ever favourite alt-rock songs.
Saw these guys in tampa many moons ago. My CD case is white and has an ardvark on it. Believe that to be the orginal cd case. Does anyone know anywhere online one could find chords/tabs to their tunes. Did a quick search and it didn't turn up much of anything. Really like the whole CD and would love to try to play a few of these tunes for my own personal entertainment.
I first heard this song on Rock Radio Station KOMP 92.3 the rock of Las Vegas, Nevada, in the late 90s I think it was 1997,I found out the bands name and I went to Tower records to buy the cd, they didn't even have it, they looked it up on the internet, and said the song was on the happiest dogs cd, they said they could order it for me, so I went to a few other record stores in Vegas, no one had it, then I went back to tower and ordered it, I guess the band wasn't very popular out west.
This is one of those songs that fell off the face of the earth. We still have Rob Thomas and all his hits blaring out of every radio though. Let us not forget all his wonderful work with Matchbox 20. We have all that stale filth on the airwaves too. Why do Americans love vanilla flavored hacks e.g. Nickelback and Matchbox 20?
I live in Cincinnati, and these guys (although not from here) had a huge following here before they even put out an album, thanks to WEBN Americas greatest rock station! I lost this cd years ago and iTunes doesn't carry it. I guess YouTube will have to be my only portal to this fantastic song.
Ebay friend! Or amazon.com I also know for a fact that they are working on a new album.....I've heard 3 songs (bootlegs from it) and it's really good! Its supposed to come out this year or early next year....Sooner rather that later i hope. Also they have a facebook and myspace.......
Yeah its agreat song ,this is the first song i heard right after i heard one of my best friends commited suicide! i will always miss him, i was so glad i found this song again.
i met these guys in florida at a free show they did at a county fair, i thought these guys rock, this song got alot of play, then i moved home to minnesota, wasnt long i heard a remix of this song on the radio that sucked, was sad i know this version would have got more play
selestino84,man trust me bro i'm 38 no disrespect but this came out before I was 22.Here in florida all those bands, mighty joe plum, damn yankees, poison, bon jovi, every mothers nightmare, saigon kick, those were called perfect hair bands.Every noon til 1 the radio plays that shit.Very cool.If you remember any from early 90's post em bro,i will do same, i got lot's.anyway peace out bro!
@squirreltoucher1 This band isn't a hair band. Don't get me wrong, I like a good hair band, but this is a mid-90s angst band at its best. This isn't early 90s, it was 1997. Similar bands include Marcy Playground, The Verve Pipe, Local H, The Nixons, etc.
@ktrh740 I dont know weahter to say fuck yourself or wake up??? how does hair play a band & wtf does time have to do wiith aGREAT song u short sighted dumb ass in the box conformatist motherfucker
@jasonlammons Weahter? Wiith? How in the fuck do you misspell with? Another funny mention is that you used "weather" when you meant to use "whether," and you even misspelled the word you were using incorrectly! I also loved how you created the word "conformatist." It's CONFORMIST, you friggin' retard!! Do us all a favor and do not procreate. It's instances like these where I question why we got rid of eugenic sterilization.
@jasonlammons Can you read? The first sentence I typed was: "This band isn't a hair band." The user "squirreltoucher1" called them a hair band, and I corrected him. Read my comment again if you are confused, which would be no surprise. Not only can you not spell the word "with," but your reading comprehension is at a first grade level. You can't blame that one on the keyboard, can you? Once again, I pose the question: why did we do away with eugenic sterilization?"
i remember hearing these guys back in the day.. man those were the days. no bills no responsibilities. good times only thing i worried about was where my next buzz was gonna come from...
@pfunk102102 ....well....that shouldnt change that much as you get older....cept maybe the gettin high part...although not even that has changed for me....i dont think its worth worrying about nothin...and these are the good times....its all a state of mind....stay free my friend
So was I, graduated HS in 98. Seems like just yesterday, yet so long ago at the same time. I remember hearing this song around freshmen year of College. Memories.
Yeah this song is awesome...definitely takes me back to the 90s. Thanks for posting this; love the Florida bands!! Just wish I could find it on iTunes.
saw em in fl.on vacation had never heard of them but was one of the best shows ive been to, then got to see them in san antonio, my hometown, awsome guys, awsome cd
these guys were really good friends of mine during college. I went to college with Marlin (guitar) and Brent (singer) in Lakeland, Fl. I used to hang out with these guys daily. Too bad they broke up....I really enjoyed going to shows with them.....Marlin and Davy (bass) actually was in another band after Mighty Joe called Mile out of Tallahassee, but they broke up as well. Brent was on a solo gig the last I heard.
This cd was the first thing i ever won and win i did because its one of the best alt songs ever written.
