Many Israeli servicemen do just what I was talking about, they sacrifice themselves as human shields in order to protect others from the eminent explosions that come. It is a noble thing. Our parents brought us up well, the difference being they knew an illegal and immoral "war" such as Iraq (more than once!) and Vietnam when compared to WWII. Most all of us would have been in some branch for WWII in a heartbeat, but we weren't even ALIVE then. If there's one thing I can say to you, it's thank you. It always brings a smile to my face to know that no matter how much I miss my husband and how much I'm struggling without him when he's away, that I and my fellow spouses are not forgotten. I just seen a commercial on AFN just now. You can be a non-US citizen and still be in the US military and after you are in the military you can gain citizenship through either a US Embassy or military installation. I think your best bet is to go to a US Embassy for further information to get in. That is if you are not living in the US right now.

joining the military part may be easy but becoming the citizen might be a little difficult you may have to do alot of paper work. It could be just the same as if you were applying to be a US citizen with out joining the military

My husband is a "lifer" He has been in the military since he was 17 years old and he is 37 now. During that time he has been "sent over" into combat zones 5 times. He went green to blue... and now, even though he is not in a combat zone now, he is overseas for 3 years. This really hits home. Its unfortunate that the military has banned the troops from accessing youtube on the "military net".

Thank You Sarge, for that awesome shout out to the military spouses. Our soldiers aren't the only ones losing their jobs when they come home... I was turned down for 3 jobs because I'm an Army spouse. They said they felt that I couldn't "commit" to their business. Horse shit!
