Goryunova wouldn't have been anywhere near the podium even with 4 hit routines, I don't know why people keep going on about her. Afanasyeva would have actually won if she didn't fall off of beam.

That floor routine is fabulous.

Lovely to see Russia go one and two, both Ksenia's, Afanasyeva and Semyonova are awesome, I am in love with their artistic gymnastics, it's refreshing to watch. So happy for Switzerland too! xx

Winning the medals is part of the game and it always annoys me when tv producers cut away and don't bother showing the medal ceremony. The champion and runner-ups deserve that much.

I know! The Russians are fighting back to the podium. I hope Romania will show some pretty good gymnastics too but I heard they don't have as many gymnasts in their training facility.

Romania has been plagued by all kinds of breakdowns. They don't have the money to fund international programs, either the coaching or the facilities. The coaching system is badly broken. Girls are getting hurt at unusually high rates & openly rebelling against their coaches. It's a mess.

Its a shame. Whatever happened to Alexandra Ghita? She was going to be someone who was great, but she seems to have disappeared. Has she retired through injury, or what? I wish I knew:(

ok heres the whole story! what has happend is that many of these juniors were just simply AMAZING!!!!!! eg ghita and lacusteanu, but they have retired due to injury and most important that theres nothing for them in gymnastics as forminte doesnt care..shows how much of a bad coach he is!

Has Ghita definitely retired then? I heard that she is still doing gym, but not at a competitive level, and is still being schooled at Deva. I wonder if she could come back? I do agree about Forminte though, he DOES have a record of having lots of injured girls doesnt he? Octavian Belu must be tearing his hair out seeing what is happening to the Romanian team:( I wish he and Mariana Bitang would come back:(
