if u knew anything about the rules of the NHL its the fact that Crombeen gets the instigator by throwing his gloves off and charging towards Bieksa to take him down. Sure Bieksa's emotions got the better of him, and it was pretty gutless move on his part, but all in all its just a tripping penalty. Crombeen just couldnt handle it, especially after being out-hit, out-scored, and out-goaltended. GO CANUCKS GO

What's the more dangerous penalty...a trip from behind, or a fight? Bieska easily could have injured Crombeen on that, and it went uncalled...Crombeen was only defending himself, though you're right about dropping the gloves for instigating, if this is reviewed surely Bieska will be punished as heavily as he, not by the rules but in actuality, instigated far more than Crombeen.

I was watching when this was called. The announcer (John Shorthouse) later mentioned that he didn't see the Bieksa trip on Crombeen. He only saw Crombeen rush Bieksa hence the call. He later said "look at that trip by Bieksa, that was what Crombeen was fired up about"
