There has never been a documented medical case of a marijuana overdose. Look it up. Reason is, the cannabinoids (active ingredients in Marijuana, including THC) work on receptors that don't exist in the brain stem. This then does not affect the respiratory system, say like an opioid like oxycontin does. This is why there are so many deaths related to opioid or benzodiazepines. Doctors write prescriptions for these drugs like crazy.

They need more education in how cannabis relieves pain.

Reason its used is that it is extremely effective and very safe...Medical cannabinoids are available in Canada under the names Marinol, Nabilone, Sativex and doctors are free to prescribe these and the smoked variety as well.

@BackEddy29 Sorry you must have mis-read my post it was intended to be sarcastic. I agree that marijuana is a safe alternative to many drugs used for pain relief amongst other things. My mom has an illness and the doctors have no idea what it is she has had many tests over the last 12 years but no real evidence of anything. She is in lots of pain and therefore uses marijuana for medicinal purposes. It gives her energy to go to work everyday and it also helps to kill the pain.
