It was used successfully to learn about terrorists operations planned by two of Al Qaeda's top operatives. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Zubaidia (involved in 9/11). Both were interrogated for days and both wouldnt talk. They began talking 20 seconds after waterboarding. So get your facts straight.

I have to admit, Ventura got beat on this one. Yea torturing is wrong, but give me a method as effective for extracting information from the countries most pressing threats and the torture stops immediately. Everyone likes to cry and whine about how it's wrong and it's not what we stand for, but I'd rather break our morals and torture a piece of shit than risk American lives. The moment you are willing to sacrifice you're own morals for the protection of a country is when you become a slave and a drone. And if torture is allowed in the country, it sets a precedent for it's future use for possibly less imminent dangers such as domestic issues (gang violence, Oklahoma City) just like Ventura claimed.

Just as I see war as immoral and wrong, but it is necessary within our flawed species. What you're proposing is merely a paranoid theory. I would be more than happy to entertain any circumstances you have in which torture tactics used during active wars were applied to the civilian population of the country using them.

I would have no problem water boarding if I had reason to believe that a threat was imminent and the person being interrogated had relevant information, other than that, I'm with the Jesse guy. That being said, I'm all for making life uncomfortable in prison for terrorists.
