@888stevieg Sorry, I didn't mean to be insulting, it's just that I don't usually see people with that pale of blond hair, unless they bleach it. I guess it comes from living in New England where the closest you get to that color hair naturally is on people who have just moved from the West Coast, or spend a ridiculous amount of time in the sun.
@RinMikuLuka my girlfriend is irish going back to the 12th century, she is also a platinum blonde and has been since the day she was born. who said bleach????
thanks to mairead i'm 11 years old and am already starting on the devil's trill. <333 first saw her when i was 3. i felt so alone and i saw a show on pbs. i was watching the celtic women. i only smiled whenever i saw her, grinning and hopping around. eventually, i met her. i was in tears. I love you Mairead!!! <33
I wonder how much Vaseline they had to use to put on those ridiculous rubber outfits?
The fiddle playing was fantastic. There's something about super fast fiddling, preferably Irish, that can always make me grin like a silly little girl. It would have been even better without the electric guitar detracting from the melodies
Mairead is also the main fiddler for Celtic Woman. I almost didn't recognize her without her pretty dresses (especially in that leather) and her beautiful long hair. She's so amazing.
I saw this and it was simply mind blowing and beautiful. I love the celtic style of dance and music. These people have amazing talent and I loved every second of this entire performance. Hope to see more things like this in the near future.
@thelemming54 no, mairead's wrist does NOT magically grow a watch...although i have to admit it DOES look like that. watch the whole video closely, look at her wrist, and you will see this weird glow around it. that was the watch---there was just too muck of a glare/reflection from the lights for us to be able to see it :)
@Analiketika411 Actually, there does seem to be some magical watchage going on. Right in the beginning we get that nice close up of her arm. No watch. Magical watch aside, an amazing performance.
@cheekyfranky1974 It's "Calliope House", written by Dave Richardson from the Scottish band "Boys of the Lough". Flatley and pals thought it was traditional and got a shock to the pocket when they realized they'd have to pay Richardson for using it.
@purplelamprox or if the go so fast their bow goes WCHONG an accidentally gets thrown. i pictured mairead doing that on a sound check. X3 everyone'd laugh!!!! X3
@purplelamprox you've obviously never played an instrument before genius! the strings don't fray! they're metal they would just snap! its the individual horse hairs on the bows that are breaking. happens all the freaking time.
@natwriter1 i meant the horsehair. i know the strings dont fray, i know they are metal. i play the guitar. im sorry i confused you and made you think otherwise haha, i used the wrong terminology. dont insult me just because you thought i meant something else.
Okay you guys I need help: The song they begin to play at 2:25 is on an old album I used to have but I can't remember the song title and I NEED it on my iPod! Anyone know what it's called?
and then again at 2:04 rofl. And I just realized that this spectacular performance took place in Germany on the very day of my birth...how's that for coinsicence? :D
