  • What do you guys reckon of those Ozito high speed orbital buffs? Any good?

  • can you give me the details of this polishing machine please? The detailing is always expensive cause it takes time but there isn't much to it. I can do this when I have some free time during weekends. Thanks for your help.

  • @daddylionn I paid 34$ after taxes for one in canada, 20 in america give or take for a palm polishing one, I use it for electric guitars but for cars and any other project by all means even a 6 inch radius-ed one by Simonize or anything is worth the buy.

  • so in order of sequence, what did you use? i.e. cut then polish...?

  • Nice vid! What song is this by the way?

  • NEVER AGAIN THOSE DRIVE -THRU CAR WASHES!!! :(

  • Do you know how to fix deep scratches without having to repaint at a body shop?

Some idiot keyed my passenger door 3 times....

  • @game2heart

It really depends on how deep the scratch is - can you see primer through the paint colour. If you want a definite opinion then email a picture in or come by and visit us in Sydney.

Otherwise get a big dog and train him to bite strangers near your car - there are some idiots with no respect out there!

  • @CarCareProducts Yea it took the paint off some parts and I got most of the lighter parts out with rubbing compound and polish. It's so true. People have no respect for nice cars, either they're jealous or what. The car they scratched is a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and I just got done washing, clay barring, waxing, and tire shining the week before.....

  • Would I still need to clay bar before polish if my car is brand new and the paint is silky smooth?

  • @game2heart

If your paint is absolutely silk smooth then no. But to check put a plastic bag over your hand (one from the supermarket) and feel the paint. The bag 'amplifies' the touch sensors in your fingers so you can really feel if there is something there. A lot of new car do have contamination from sitting in holding yards and shipping yards, especially European ones coming to Aus

  • thanks Dude ........

I will try one more time ....I hope not removing the paint

  • I am using Farecla's G3 compound and some other glaze to remove swirls marks. it is silicon free.....

    It is rotatory buffer

  • @nisss33 ; g3 is a filler and a glazer which does not remove any marks on the paint. very short lived and is a 'turn around product' only for panel shops. terrible product in fact!

If you do not have any experience with a Rotary Machine i wouldn't advise using one. If you have only that as a choice i would suggest using it on a slow speed 2/3 as you should be already and making sure a) your pad is very clean before you even started, b) your paint was clean (eg clayed etc), c) your technique.

  • The video here is showing Menzerna products which are available from their website stated car care products dot com dot au

  • Hi dude .here is the problem .....after i finish buffing i see swirls marks all over the paint!!!!! ,especially after few days from my buffing...in morning the paint look great!!! but in night time it look sucks

    ANY SOLUTION ????

  • @nisss33 ; What products are you using and what machine are you using?

    thanks

  • what is a clay bar, is it very nessasary, i didnt use one and my car looks very nice after my first attempt at polishing albeait a few streaks but overal very nice.

  • Yes I would always clay before machine polishing, otherwise you risk the chance of 'marring' your paint.

  • @CarCareProducts ive used one after washing my car and it didn't seem to do anything. It got a little dirty. Also after a while it started to smear. Any suggestions on this?

  • Hi

Just a question after you do the polish do you still have to wax the car to protect the paint? just trying to understand the hole process of buffing , polishing and waxing?

Any help would be great thanks

  • @Andocrx Yes the general process is 1. wash 2. clay 3. polish 4. wax/seal Polish should remove imperfections (cutting / buffing / polishing - similar terms) and Wax or Sealant is designed to add gloss and protect. Hope this helps

  • @CarCareProducts Do you know anything of Professional Formula Polymer Paint Sealant, with Dupont Telfon.Says for Professional and Commercial use.

Now I can't seem to find it anymore!?

Titled, Las Vegas, New and Improved, SHOW CAR Polish. I had paid about 20.00 for 16oz

  • Steps I have done: on a base clear coat system

1000 grit stepped up to finish with 3000 grit then several steps of super fine compound then ended up with machine glaze. What steps would you recommend to continue on to get the best finish. I was told by some to use hand glaze next and then stop. Is this the case?

    Thanks

  • @1966blackbeauty If the paint finish is free of swirls, marks or imperfections after the polishing stages, I would just use a premium Carnauba Wax to seal and protect the finish - also adding some extra depth and gloss. The hand glaze will probably not add much more

  • i just painted a car with acrylic and clear coat. should i wet rub the car before polishing? i have been told to do this but im unsure..

  • It depends on the finish you have got off the gun and the paint system used. If both good then you should not need to

  • nicely done. gotta love random orbitals.+ nice easey music

  • you've said to start with lowest speed 1 and then speed 5.

but what i dont understand is..that some video on youtube with the same RO polisher you have there use 3 to start with then go to 5.

    whats the ...difference?

  • Not sure on the other video but generally you start on 1 to simply spread the product over the surface, no speed is required. Then increase to 5 to work the product , and the abrasives down.

  • @CarCareProducts

hi, I just bought a clay bar kit from maguiars and ruined my top coat. Now I have swirlies on my new car... I bought swirlx to remove it with microfiber pad but it doesn't work. Do you have any tutorials on taking swirls out using hand method as I do not have a porter cable or any kind of machine buffer. The product says you can do it by hand but it doesn't seem to work.

  • we do not currently supply or support the products above. It sounds like the damage might need further correction, I would go back to the manufacturer to seek help

  • what is the polishing compound used i can tell its a Menzerna product and for the finishing you've used the dodo juice lime prime

  • I think we used PO203s or PO91L to start with as the swirls and marks were fairly bad - both are intensive type of polishes. And then yes the Lime Prime to further refine and enhance gloss

  • great vid :)

  • WoW! Your services extend pass your website and onto youtube. great!

thanks for the info. looking at getting my first RA (besides the massive dodbgy one from autobarn)

was keen on either this, the G220 or the stumpy festool.

  • We certainly try to offer service everywhere we can!

The DAS6 or the Festool are great machines - if you need more information feel free to call or email at any time

  • i saw this item on your website.

does it keep the speed if pressure is applied?

looks plasticky. is it made from very durable plastic?

  • The DAS6 machine does keep speed if you apply pressure, it is rated at 500W - most cheap off-the-shelf polishers are around 120W.

It is specially designed to polish cars & is made from very durable materials similar to makita or metabo machines, for example.

These machines have sold 1000's in Europe, so quality and performance have been proven for some time.

We now have good stocks of the DAS6 &anyone is welcome to visit our showroom to see them & any other products from the online store.

  • Prices are not totally confirmed but should be around the $200 - $240 We will be offering the polisher on its own and a range of kits with pads and polish. The DAS6 is a quality machine that is specifically designed for Paint Correction and polishing car paintwork.

  • I'm also looking at getting one of those polishers-. any ideas on price?

  • @australia0199 I purchased the RO kit used in the video and it was approx $260 which included all the pads and compounds. The results are phenomenal.

  • Thanks for the comments. The Polisher being used is the DAS-6 Random Orbital Polisher, it is very popular in Europe and coming to Australia very soon (end of Sep'09) - perfect for beginners and enthusiasts, it delivers the results but is really easy to use...

  • great guide, whats the polisher your using in the video if you dont mind me asking?
