Been calling them for a month and my 50 plasma with out a picture still has not been fixed. They just give you a ticket number and say there will be someone calling to come fix it. I think it could be a transister not switching the curent on for the picture to come on and when you turn it off to shut power off to circut board then turn it back on the relay works and now I am starting to now think you have bad capaciters so If I was you and your good wth soldering then look for bulging capaciters and they all should be flat and replace them with the same numbers on the caps and don't get the polarity + and - backwards and that should fix your TV :)
Open your POS samsung TV and check it for leaky and bloated electrolytic capacitors on the back-light inverter board. I'll bet you have bad electrolytic caps. Once you spot them, de-solder them, record their values, and look for similar electrolytic caps at Radio Shack. If you do this, you will save yourself hundreds of dollars. You can buy everything you need to undertake this task at Radio Shack.
Let me know also, where in the bloody hell your TV was manufactured.
@ArcadeGames OK, If you don't agree with me on going to Radio Shack, then visit your local downtown electronic component stores. They have more of a variety of capacitors, transistors, diodes, resistors, IC's, you name it. They have it; but I live closer to a Radio Shack than a downtown mom and pop electronic component mini-store. However, I've never had problems with electronics that have been repaired with Radio Shack products, and neither have my customers. Just a thought!!!!!!!!!

same thing happens with my 42" Vizio idk what the deal is. Also sometimes my remote wont work from far away you have to go like 5 inches from the tv for it to work. And sometimes the remote will work from halfway across the house so idk whats up with it. But every time i turn it off and back on like twice it will finally start working again.

Samsung LCDs probably have the best picture quality on the market, but I'd never sacrifice reliability for that. Just buy a Panasonic, Sony, or Sharp.

The Samsung LN series seem to all have bad compasitors that cause this proble bottom line is get a local repair center to come out and replace the caps on the ip/power board most of them will do it for free since it is a know issue samsung picks up the tab. It has to be approved I repaired 16 last week through out the KC metro and samsung paid the Bill on all but 2 of them. and the parts total on the 2 combined at 1000% markup was less than $25.

30yr tv repair person told me all brands have these problems do to new technologies small compacitors not strong enough after upgrading my compacitors to a 25 volt instead of the 10 volt that was in my samsung no futher problems i believe if you SHELL OUT 1000 OR MORE FOR A TV AND DONT BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY its your own damn fault not the companys todays visit would have been 185 dollors through geek squad to fix. that was the cost of my WARRANTY !! Mine is doing the same thing except it clicks on and off a couple of times and eventually comes on by itself. It also comes up with green squares all over the screen sometimes. Turn it off and on again and they go away so far.

Put "SAMSUNG TV CLICKING" into a google search and read about THOUSANDS of samsung customers that are screwed and pissed off because their tvs started clicking on and off then became TOAST. It does this just after the warrantys expire. Samsung used cheap parts and know about the problems but won't admit to them. Do the search before U buy so you won't be the next SAMSUNG SUCKER !!
actualy yes it is. it gets pretty hot its not on for very long either mabey an hour to two every day but the problem is not when its hot i mean i go in the morning to turn it on and its not hot at all and it will just click for a good 2 minutes and finaly turns on after that it works fine?
ure capcitors are about to go thats what it means. you will get to a point one day when its taking longer time to come one and 1 day it will not even come on at all through time. tv requires capacitor replacement.

yea but they did make huge improvements just i n the past 1-2 years now, plasma is just as energy efficiant , last jsut as long or longer has better color,better black levels, and no blurring.
Wrong. I had a 52"LG plasma for 3 weeks. Screen Burned in the first week. Returned it, got the 7 series Samsung B750. Problem Solved. LCD is the way to go.
a friend of mine works at "media market", may u know, its a store for electronic things, and he said nearly every second (!) LG TV which's bigger than 32" so the 37" and 40" have been brought back cause anything broke down..
Ive got a Samsung 47" and it would do the same shit. I bought it around Sept of 08. Mine would cut out in the middle of game play or watching tv. I called Samsung and they said it was a faulty output board. They sent someone over as fast as could be to fix the problem. They said it was just a bad design and are willing to fix the problem to get everyone squred away asap. Needless to say, they havent used that board style after the problem was noticed. They were great help.

samsung used shitty chinese made capacitors from 20005 to 2007, made to last approx 2000 hrs vrs industry standard 7000. just starting to drop like flies as most sets are at or approaching that time of usage. also depends how many times you turn on/off tv. look for news reports, class action lawsuits to follow, this problem is starting to crest
cost of parts to fix by yourself if you know how to solder-under ten bucks. compare that to extended warranty or "repair" (code for replacing motherboard at hundreds of dollars, likely containing the same capacitors) cost.

Actually I read problems with SAMSUNG. I think they all do. LCDs are NOT as strong as one's conventional televisoin. My previous television was over 20 year old and it still works perfectly. I actually have still a television made back in the 1970's and it STILL WORKS JUST FINE. I kept that one in case my RCA goes out. And I'm sure it will.

I have a 40 inch samsung. Amazing picture but after 4 months the TV shuts off by itself. It freezes in a way that when you use your remote control and press any button it will shut down the TV. Apparently Samsung is having a MAJOR problem with their on/off sensitive button which is causing these issues. I've always bought Sony but I just loved Samsung's pic quality but now I am going back to Sony TV. Samsung does make great cell phones but their TVs have major problem across the board. Stay away

I got my samsung back in December of 2009, work fine until it start turning off and on constantly until I unplug the TV... happens when I turn on the TV without using it for two days... good thing I still have warranty.

I have heard a rumor that Samsung has chips in there TVs that make them go defective after the date of warranty and have heard of an unusually large number of complaints that seem to support this. Whether's it true or not I'm not going to buy any Samsung TV's from all the problems I keep hearing about them

sorry it turns out that he did not have a problem it was just his rogers box connections. I very pissed on how SONY has very good service, and samsung laughs and hangs up the phone on custumers. And dont care if ur tv broke, from there own cheap parts in SAMSUNG TV. SONY would help you and fix or replace ur set and samsung dont care, I seen it for my own eyes, im beging my pprocedure on sueing SAMAUNG.

My 46 inch lcd just out of warranty started clicking on and off for days now it won't come on at all. Less then 15 months and the tv takes a dump is unacceptable. I'm screwed along with thousands of other samsung customers with the same problem. Put samsung tv clicking into a google search and read the truth about these junk tvs.

my SAMSUNG started doin the same thing, it dont turn on. I hate SAMSUNG I spent almost $3000 and 2 years later the tv dont wana work. I called SAMSUNG and they refered me to a shop 13miles away, and i got a price quoate for $350 to repair. I think SAMSUNG should come to my house and fix this garbage lcd, i spent 3grand and 2 years later it dont wanaturn on. DONT BY ANYTHING SAMSUNG, GET SONY.

Mine is doing the same thing except it clicks on and off a couple of times and eventually comes on by itself. It also comes up with green squares all over the screen sometimes. Turn it off and on again and they go away so far.

actualy yes it is. it gets pretty hot its not on for very long either mabey an hour to two every day but the problem is not when its hot i mean i go in the morning to turn it on and its not hot at all and it will just click for a good 2 minutes and finaly turns on after that it works fine?

ure capcitors are about to go thats what it means. you will get to a point one day when its taking longer time to come one and 1 day it will not even come on at all through time. tv requires capacitor replacement.

hi my samsung 40in has just started to do this problem in the last 3 weeks, when we first turn it on in the morning it happens but during the day if we turn it off for 30min ish and turn it on it comes back on stright away. have you fixed your tv yet?

yea but they did make huge improvements just i n the past 1-2 years now, plasma is just as energy efficiant , last jsut as long or longer has better color,better black levels, and no blurring.

Wrong. I had a 52"LG plasma for 3 weeks. Screen Burned in the first week. Returned it, got the 7 series Samsung B750. Problem Solved. LCD is the way to go.

Ive got a Samsung 47" and it would do the same shit. I bought it around Sept of 08. Mine would cut out in the middle of game play or watching tv. I called Samsung and they said it was a faulty output board. They sent someone over as fast as could be to fix the problem. They said it was just a bad design and are willing to fix the problem to get everyone squred away asap. Needless to say, they havent used that board style after the problem was noticed. They were great help.

samsung used shitty chinese made capacitors from 20005 to 2007, made to last approx 2000 hrs vrs industry standard 7000. just starting to drop like flies as most sets are at or approaching that time of usage. also depends how many times you turn on/off tv. look for news reports, class action lawsuits to follow, this problem is starting to crest

cost of parts to fix by yourself if you know how to solder-under ten bucks. compare that to extended warranty or "repair" (code for replacing motherboard at hundreds of dollars, likely containing the same capacitors) cost.

Actually I read problems with SAMSUNG. I think they all do. LCDs are NOT as strong as one's conventional televisoin. My previous television was over 20 year old and it still works perfectly. I actually have still a television made back in the 1970's and it STILL WORKS JUST FINE. I kept that one in case my RCA goes out. And I'm sure it will.

I have a 40 inch samsung. Amazing picture but after 4 months the TV shuts off by itself. It freezes in a way that when you use your remote control and press any button it will shut down the TV. Apparently Samsung is having a MAJOR problem with their on/off sensitive button which is causing these issues. I've always bought Sony but I just loved Samsung's pic quality but now I am going back to Sony TV. Samsung does make great cell phones but their TVs have major problem across the board. Stay away
