Upgrading the Nintendo DSi firmware

it got stuck. Anyone knows the solution?

@sonicmixer an acekard or any other flash cart, allows you to download hombrew nds files or commercial roms and play them without having to switch carts, some other carts offer more features, but this is the basics of what they all do (except games and music and iplayer)

The update to version 1.4 got rid of all the previous flash cards. You will need to buy a new r4i version 1.4 =(

Dude, I'm using R4i right now. They just came up with an update for it. I brought mine to the store last Sunday and the guys just downloaded something online, copied it into my micro SD, and now it works.

I did a little research after posting that comment last night and saw theres a program to DL from the R4i website which hacks the firmware on the machine to play them.

Nope, the only time he touched my DSi was to pop the cart in to check if it was working.

Nope. The only problem was that the cart wouldn't load, so he took it back to the PC. Took a couple of tries.

Well, I'm a bit unsure of whether it's just one version. My friend (who's Chinese) called ahead and told them my problem and let them know I was coming. When I arrived, they told me to wait a while.

An hour later, a guy on a bike comes in holding a box of R4i's. So I'm not sure if they are just replenishing their stock, or if it's a new model. But considering the fact that they had to download something first then stick it in the micro SD, I'm willing to bet it's the same R4i from before.

Don't do this, it will F**K up your DSi, and you don't want that happening do you? When it's really time to update it, something will probably pop up, guys just be patient and wait.

If you upgraded your dsi and format it nothing will happen, you will still have v1.4

R4 now has an update that bypasses it. I brought my DSi to the store today and bought an R4i. It works perfectly with 1.4J.

Well, I had a TTDS, so I had to dump that and buy an R4. My cart says R4i Revolution for i.L.S. It doesn't say gold anywhere.

you can but the DSi won't read the files.you will need to get a DSi specific flashcard.also the DSi reads SD not microsd.(diffrence in size ;-)

i haven't tried it yet but there is an adaptor card for mini sd cards so you can put them into the sd slot, i got it free with my phone because the phone uses mini sd's

No it doest, the only proper flashcard for the DSi is the ace card 2i ( it has to be the 2i , the acecard 2 is ds and dslite only) the other r4i ( wich is fake, r4 team is dead , I have a r4 and it has been almost a year without any message from the r4 team) the dstti or somthing is also just stupid, everone knows how the dstt is , rubbish flashcard .. well anyway if you got question just ask

Dstti is a tool used to get games on your dsi for free, the little chip was a Micro SD Card thats inside the DSTTI, which holds the games :P

I believe that you can still use compatible flashcards when you by accidently update the firmware, you could just do factory reset option, deleting all firmwares and softwares. Thats the only bad part.
