Well, the writing wasn't exactly 'Godfather". But the lightning was really atmospheric and some of the camera movements look very meaningful to me. Not at all bad for a first film!
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Don't go. Just buy a camcorder (the Scarlet should be out soon) and shoot movies. You don't need a film school to teach you how to shoot movies. Move to LA, get actors, learn to work with them, make mistakes and learn. If you want to learn how to light then go over to Moll Richardson and take the free classes that they offer. Need more info? PM me.
@lucasjeffreys You should definitely consider it. They do send information out of country. This school is universal. Anyone from outside the country would come to LA to learn film in the heart of Hollywood! :)
Im planning on coming here but for recording school.
yeah um to make this more believable it is my understanding that mob bosses or wise guys dont have beards unless thier in hiding. Another thing the bearded boss should have done was demand more respect from carlo he started to but then backed down like a little bitch. Now if your gonna call off a hit like that you must demand a tribute so you dont loose respect from your people especially the guy that was stabbed by this prick.
no one cares for your expertise in the mob underworld. it's a film school project and its supposed to be focused on the camerawork and directing. you're ridiculous
The point is this is suppose to be believable and realistic in which it is not believable and very unrealistic. Do a better job next time. Camera and lighting were good but performance wise it sucked.
Lighting is good, actors were not good, camera movements were shit. And once again like I have told many of these young aspiring film makers. That you need to do different takes. This is all one scene but theres no angles, no tripod shots, nothing!
the shot is too long. I would have done the DP work a little better. much more close ups and less sweeping camera movement. Im going to la film in september. I still respect your work. Im just giving my opinion. the lighting was nice just the cinematography, shot selection. needs work. why would you not put the camera on manual focus. that would stop that problem of the focus not staying on the subject matter.
I am going to lafilm school in novmber too. I just wanted to let you know that the cameran was on auto foucus, thats why he had this problems with it, he should put it on manual foucs if he is good cameraman.Thanks. I still like the shot
I think I would have added a little bit of physical violence, I think it would have augmented the conflict aspect. The character with the cigar should have slapped or pushed the other guy around a bit.

If you would take the time to read the info on the right, this project was supposed to be shot using one take! No cuts, edits, nothing.
