man! i love carowinds, but i hate the employers. my class paid $30 each for tickets which was about $1000 total. my teacher said that the people who work there should have the tickets for us when we get there. when we got there, they said they lost the tickets. i feel bad for my teacher because she said she'll pay for our tickets which was like $1000. it really pissed me off when they said they lost our tickets. >.<

Omg........ Today (April 11, 2010) I road afterburn like 3 times..... I used to not like it bc i was kinda scared but i actually learned tew love it and Meh also rode Carolina Cyclone , Vortex, Scream weaver, Thunder road ( 5 times >:D ) The borg ( Nighthawk ), White waterfalls, Rip'll and Rapids, THE INTEMIDATOR >:D, And Some more but i almost road EVERY SINGLE ride there. :D

*facepalm* Afterburn is original. Look at Talon, it's different from the start. It goes into a vertical loop after the space drop, the only thing similar, (the B&M signature) then into a corkscrew. Afterburn goes from the loop into an Immelman.

Hmm lets compare Carowinds to Kings Dominion. Anaconda (waaaaayyy better than Carolina Cobra and Carolina Cyclone), Volcano (best inverted ever Afterbur eny's Volcano), Hurler at KD (better and safer than the Hurler at Carowinds), Ricochet at KD (our Ricochet actually has a drop), Drop Zone at KD (137ft taller than the one at Carowinds) Dominator better than Nighthawk and everything Carowinds will ever get. Carowinds sucks. Kings Dominion rocks.

LOL, Volcano is not better than Afterburn? Last time I checked Volcano had superb themeing, a 70mph launch, and is the most popular ride in virginia. Afterburn cannot compete with Alpie at Busch Gardens, how in the world could it compete with Volcano? Our Hurlers are the same! Except ours was retracked which made it smoother. Glad your happy with your 1996 boomerang, check out screamscape, that boomerang will be the only "new" coaster in your park for years!

Kings Dominion is definitly getting a new coaster, that is what it says in screamscape. Numerous experts rank Volcano in the top 50 in the world. Afterburn is not. IDK why you are happy about a relocated boomerang, maybe the same reason you love Afterburn so much.

Actually if you go to Mitch's Steel Coaster Poll 2008, you'll see that Afterburn is ranked #34, as opposed to Alpengeist being #52, and Volcano being #55. So yes, I do love Afterburn. And Carowinds is definitely getting a new coaster too. Yep, Carolina Cobra's new trains make all the difference, maybe you should try it before you judge :P.

Afterburn is a simple B&M inverted coaster, quite boring if you ask me. Volcano is one of a kind, with surperb themeing, and a 70mph launch. It is clear which one wins. And dont even tell be about the trains, if you can remember another coaster they used "one of a kind" trains on (Drachen Fire).
