The funny thing is in the 5th generation a move has been introduced called Drench, which covers the foe in water and changes the opponent into the Water type. That moment in the first generation is now actually plausible, considering the possibility that the sprinklers had a similar effect. Killing Geodude with Thundershock (or was it Thunderbolt?) when it was DRY was still a cheat though. =P
