  • I have an 07' Sentra and it looks nothing like this. The manual says the cabin air filter is located next to the accelerator pedal...

  • @koop1445 You are correct. This was one of our first videos and I apologize for not being more clear in the information section. The 2007 Nissan Sentra takes filter AQ1114. The video for this procedure can be seen at /watch?v=jt2ZWNp059Q or by searching AQ1114 on YouTube.

  • @filterheads Awesome, just watched it! Thanks! : ) We'll be sure to always order from you guys from now on!

  • It never occurred to me to remove the plastic frame first, this will make it much easier next time! Thanks! Also what's stuff on the side of the filter you applied?

  • @XenomorphLV426 The strips of foam that we applied to the filter will come with the filter that we sell.

  • Is this same as Air Cabin Filter?

Dealership wants to charge me $98 for replacement.

  • Why do i have to remove the glove box frame ? i did it without removing it, and here in the video the place of the filter is seen without removing it ?? can someone answer me please !

  • @heheheaan Although you can see the filter door from just removing the glove box, the frame covers about one or two inches of the left side of the door. It may be possible to slide the door out without removing the frame, but the official procedure from Nissan is to remove the frame, so we did. Removing the frame made it easier to take the door off and install the new filter without bending it.

  • @filterheads thank you very much

  • Great video. Question, is it critical that the air flow direction arrow is pointed down or does the filter work the same either direction?

  • @cheetahlip - Generally, the media in these types of filters will perform exactly the same in both directions when first installed. The difference between the sides is "capacity" - or the number of particles the filter can catch before it becomes "clogged". You won't damage your car by putting it in the wrong way. The filter will just have a shorter service life.

  • @filterheads Hey appreciate that....I only ask because I just changed mine, and there is another vid online that I watched that advocated the opposite arrow direction that you guys did!!! And of course the original filter did not have an arrow on it when I removed it. Thanks for the reply and the good vid.

  • @cheetahlip Our arrows indicate the direction of airflow, while some other companies arrows indicate the direction of the filter. I'm sure this is the case. We're glad you found our video helpful!

  • I took my 04' sentra in to the dealer to have an oil change (they sent me a coupon for an oil change). After changing the oil the guy told me that my cabin filter was "shot" and that they can change it for $85. I told them thanks but no thanks and found out how to change the cabin filter from the users manual (and this site). I bought a cabin filter for $18 and it took me 10 minutes to install it. Funny thing is that there was no original cabin filter in the car at all. Hmmmmmm.

  • I have an 02 Maxima, do I change my filter the same way as in this video?

  • @Gzup803 - Your Maxima will be different from the Sentra in this video. The level of difficulty is about the same, and the filter is also behind the glovebox. Your car uses a different filter than the the one shown here - it actually has a pair of filters that slide into the housing together. Our part number is AQ1093C. We will probably shoot a video for your model within the next several weeks - stay tuned.

  • Oh ok. Great thanks again.

  • That sounds great. I actually have a 2007 Nissan altima. Can I get a part code for that. Thanks a lot.

  • @TheOnetwothreemike Our part number for the Non-hybrid 2007 Altima is AQ1140. It will be a different procedure than in this video. We are scheduled to shoot video footage in the next week of so for an Altima.

  • @filterheads is the video for altima available now? I can't find it.

  • Thanks for posting this. Nissan wanted almost $120.00 to do that for me, but by the looks of things, I can do it myself.

  • @TheOnetwothreemike - If you are the least bit mechanically inclined, you certainly can. For the month of January, you can use the promo code YT1101 at our website to get 25% off the filter you need - our part number is AQ1087.

  • thankyou. I have a 2006 sentra I bought in 2007. I never changed the cabin filter , when I remove the housing I notice there was no Filter in the car... Now I have a new filter and my car smell clean with my new air freshner. It was quick and easy installation...
