I've been to Oz and it's just all desert, and I got the impression there's more dick sucking in Oz than here as well, unsurprising given that the rate of AIDS in Oz is twice as high as in the UK
If the UK was successfully invaded, the Empire would fall apart, and the USSR would not have the support of the superior British intelligence, which far outshine any in the world at the time. They would also not receive British supplies which kept them in the war, and USA would be facing "fortress Europe", and they would have to sail the entire Atlantic then carry out something similar to the d-day landing, except without British support, which on d-day meant over half of the attacking troops.
@razzledazzlerob Did you just agree with me entirely that the UK was a more significant force on the Western Theatre than the US? I think the USSR was FAR more important than any Allied power in the stopping of Germany, but obviously communism was the lesser evil, it doesn't make the USSR "right" in any of its treatments of the East German people.
If the USSR collapsed, Germany would have massive natural resources and industry to exploit with a population much higher than that of the us with a country many times the size. All of Europe would fall and the Germans would turn on the Japanese if they had further ambitions. The uk would also fall, unable to face half of the world on it's own. (The empire was only a third ;) )
Let us analyse what would have happened if each of the major allied nations had been defeated in the second world war. Firstly, the USA. If the USA had been defeated in WW2, it would have had to only accept Japanese hegemony in the area of the pacific surrounding Japan. The us mainland would not be threatened, and it would lose only outlying islands. The European nations would continue to fight Germany and would eventually prevail.
@unfukkkmee It's a free world....and if the British hadn't, it just means the French Germans and Spanish would have taken over instead. We have good relations with our former colonies.
Ask the Vietnamese what they think of their French colonial masters or what the people of South America think of the Spanish.
People from America and Britain. Stop arguing. The american contribution to ww1 is nothing compared to the British. The British contribution does not compare to the french. However, America contributed massively to the allied cause in ww2, more so than the uk, but again not as much as Russia. I will be happy to discuss these points with anyone who is polite.
@razzledazzlerob I shall debate! I am going to focus primarily on the military side of things and not on the economical support. The turning point of the war was the battle of El Alamein. The battle of El Alamein was incredibly decisive victory over the german and italian forces. It led to the Axis defeat in Africa and secured the suez canal. It was fought by British and other Commonwealth nations (as well as free french units). It was the beginning of the end for Nazi Germany.
@liamdude4 Yeah. It also prevented the Germans from reaching the middle east and accessing the massive amounts of oil in the region. This would have kept them in the war longer at the very least. From the middle east they could have attacked into Russia directly south of Stalingrad cutting behind defences and securing yet more oil from the caucasus/Black sea region, depriving Russia of it.
They would also have been able to influence Turkey and possibly get her to join the war. The victory at El Alamein was the first defeat for the unstoppable german war machine and marked the beginning of ther end. For the rest of the war winston Churchill spoke of the el alamein spirit, also the blitz spirit but we aren't talking about that are we. Rommel's Afrika Corps was also a very dangerous beast after the victory as well as before, savaging the first americans to fight in the theatre. :D
Long live the union of England, Whales, Scottland, and Ireland i love everyone under the Union Jack, im English and i love all the Scotts the Irish and the Welsh you guys are all the best. God save the Queen.
I have a Question. The Irish Say that they're not British and I know that Britain is the Landmass of England, Wales, and Scotland. But the Two Landmasses of Britain and Ireland are Still Called the British Isles, right? So Wouldn't the Irish be Considered British?
@holmesbinton Great Britain encompasses Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England under one government, the government of Great Britain. The British Isles is the name given to the entire group of islands, including Ireland, but as in reference to nationality, Republican Irish would likely not take kindly to be calling them British as they aren't part of the government of Great Britain. Its all jolly confusing at times
@23026614 For more than a while. India's actually probably the reason that the empire didn't send huge amounts of troops the the USA to fight off any resistance. Due to trouble in India at the same time as the war of independence. And as India's economy was far far larger than Americas. We only really bothered with India. But you try and get an American to believe that.

@kenrulezandisgod7 I think people thumbs this up cause your saying some nation is greater than your own. Sri Lanka is plenty amazing on its own, be prideful of your country.
The UN Decolonization Committee adopted a consensus resolution reiterating that the way to end the “special and particular” colonial situation in Malvinas is through peaceful, negotiated settlement of the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the UK. By the terms of the text, introduced by Chile’s representative, the Committee regretted that, despite widespread international support for negotiations, longstanding General Assembly resolutions on that question hadnt been implemented by the UK
Britian is like my second country! I am a American senior in high school, and I am of British descent. I went to England last summer and it was the best week of my life! And im going back next summer! I wanna have dual citzenship when im older. God bless the UK & USA.
My Dad, a Cornishman from Truro, was decorated with the DSM by King George v! for saving 3 shipmates, including the captain, my Dad being the last man to leave the ship, and single-handedly shooting down 3 Dorniers off the coast of Grimsby in 1942. Men like him are largely forgotten. He died in Tanganyika aged 48, due to war injuries, assisted by malaria, 11 years after leaving the RN. I was five, & we were in the bush in Tanganyika. I never felt our loss was understood. But God Bless the RN!
@KiNGZeDDi3x Sure, we couldn't be pagan and sacrifice ourselves for the rest of time. It would become inhumane. Plus, why did you need to go back to 1500? They've changed alot since then.
@KiNGZeDDi3x you do realise your family could have Irish decent since lots of Irish came to Britain when the famine started so you better check xD what would you do if you did kill yourself ? most rangers fans probably have Irish decent but are too retarded to know
@ParkLaneTottenham1 your ignorance is astounding I'm Irish and very proud of my country and we dont all support the actions of the catholic church, eat potatoes and kill people. As for terrorists I think you'll find your precious British Empire was the original terrorist inflicting mass murder, religious persecution and poverty upon soverign countries like Ireland and India
There is some very sick racist stuff written here - greetings from the USA, we should obviously have left you to the Nazis, who you obviously have a strong affinity with
@MrSuperkrap You obviously don't know your stuff, you american's didn't 'save' us Brits because your 'nice' you did it because of your own country's reason's to end foreign uprising, because you just have to be the big dogs all the time.
@MrSuperkrap Idiot American, we won the battle of Britain before you even joined plus America thought in the pacific you only took part in one battle in Europe
@DaleWF10 Europe was the Commonwealths theatre, we fought at El Alamein, we took Caen, we fought the U-Boats. USSR took Berlin, not USA, USA didnt declare war on Germany, the interventionist movement was a minority and the only reason the US was involved in the european theatre was Germany declared war on them. USA was only really engaged alongside Commonwealth forces in the Pacific. America did very little in Europe compared with others. Good on you for putting that guy right.
@liamdude4 Indeed Western Europe was us the Britons, the Commonwealths, the French, and the Poles theater, but Eastern Europe was the Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians, Poles, Latvians, Estonians, and Lithuanian's theater.
@liamdude4 Except the liberation of Scily the 3rd army into paris the Normandy landings the lend lease act feeding you ungreatful sub human Soviets and Angletaire . Also the Liberation of Rome . Lets look at battles you commanded Dunkirk and market garden . Great job there laddie
@TThorne931 2 words. El Alamein. Or perhaps Stalingrad, the turning point in the eastern theatre? The Italian front was very insignificant in the great scheme of it. If the russians had folded, the germans would've secured the oilfields in the caucus, or if they'd succeeded in Africa they'd have gained access to the colonial positions and the suez canal. Plus, America was forced into the war, it never willingly entered. Britain and France took a stand against Germany, not America.
@liamdude4 Stalingrad was a Falurie for the Good Side . And El alamein good your asses got rammed to egypt before you could stand against superior Germans . If russia folded they would have lost true but they would take a lot of germans out using US vechiles under lendlease . America could have refused to Fight Germany refused England supplies AA guns and Destroyers it used to protect Britian . Remmeber lend lease you snooby useless englishman . We loaned you tools of survival for low cost .
@TThorne931 I have so many problems with your comment that I am stooping low enough to reply. Stalingrad resulted in the destruction of the German 6th army, and the faltering of the german offensive in the region, America couldnt have refused to fight, Germany declared war in support of the japanese, American support for willingly helping their allies was tiny. El alamein was a huge moral and strategic success for the allied forces, it gave hope to a beleaguered force.
@liamdude4 And resaulted in Bolstered bolshevikism if Germany haden't attacked poland your kind would had sided with old nazi krauts against bolshevikism . America could refuse to fight Germany and if you think the Lend Lease act which feed England and Gave her arms and ammuniton t stand against the kraut onsalught you're an idiot of your own history . 98% of locomotives the USSR built were made in the United States and carred over by USMM
@TThorne931 If germany hadn't attacked poland and begun the shadow of terror it sought to cast over all europe, then why would we need to be enemies with them? The lend lease act, was over a year past the start of WW2, and only nine months prior to the attack on Pearl Harbour, and it didnt give us our arms and ammunition, it loaned us equipment such as Tanks and Artillery Tractors not ammunition, and unless you eat tanks, it didnt feed us either. And dont spew "what if" scenarios, its pointless.
@liamdude4 If not for England harsh treatment of the german people blaming them for slavic assasins starting the war and forcing them to pay and take the blame Hitler woudn't have taken over Germany but no you English types wanted to blame the german people . Also we fed the glorious RED army for years and armed it the city of staligrad stood fed with US grain and fought with US rounds . We were always selling your weak island supplies don't be an revisonist
@TThorne931 Basically all of that you just said is false. Your "lend lease" agreement did not cover any articles of food or for that matter ammunition, seeing as how your Neutrality Acts forbade such a trade. So, you cannot claim that they fought "with US rounds" when at the time your own government refused to SELL arms and war equipment. Hence the name, lend-lease, thats a loophole in that Act. Oh, and the weak island that kept the shipping lanes open.
@liamdude4 As the United States started losing her sons in 1939 to feed you idiots in england with the lives of our merchant marines. And we violate our law when it suits us you english had a similar ideals
@TThorne931 You seriously need to read up on your history friend, seeing as how you're just making things up. For one, America DID NOT FEED BRITAIN. We have always relied on trade to keep Britain supplied with food, so why would we all of a sudden need your food. America never "violated" their law, unless you believe that democracy can be put aside as and when it suits your country, which would make you a "sub-human", to take one of your own insults.
@liamdude4 we violated our neatural status when we traded with you to feed you . We put aside the strict law to feed you and all the refugess you dragged across the isle .
@TThorne931 No it did not, it came from a myriad of countries that had export deals that preceeded the war, such as south africa, or india. I can hardly believe you did not know how food comes into Britain, the Royal Merchant Navy was responsible for UK registered shipping that entered the country, and it was the British Navy that fought the U-Boats, as well as the Italian and German fleets. Next time do some research before making ridiculous claims.
@liamdude4 You know, many Americans died in Europe, too. Maybe not as much as any other country, but Americans were still lost. Even if the US was not as involved in Europe, there were still American casualties, and I feel that your comment is disrespectful to them. You do not see me disrespecting British casualties in Europe, so why must you disrespect American casualties?
And I don't want to be enemies with British people. The UK may have been the US's first enemy, but the UK is also...
@SirSnivyofNottingham ...one of the US's longest and largest allies. I honestly feel betrayed that American casualties are disrespected as such by a Briton. It feels like your best friend is pissing on your dead cousin's grave, then demonizing you.
@SirSnivyofNottingham I never disrespected American casualties, I am merely proceeding to correct somebody who is clearly wrong and is trying to paint the war as being a "US saves the world" situation, which I find to be the most prevalent sentiment amongst Americans. I have great awe over some American achievements, I just have more admiration for that of other nations, such as the Free French, or the Russians, as their contributions to the war were fervent.
@liamdude4 Well one your Commonwealth Nation, also mine Named the Commonwealth of Australia was under threat by japanese, we barely held them back. We thank America for mostly the Equipment they supplied us with plus that extra men to help us push the Japs back to Japan.
@owen82100 I agree? I thank them as well, they did a damned good job in the Pacfic theatre, so they can tell you aussies that they saved your asses. But they can't say that to me.
@liamdude4 that's what i say to the US-American when they tell me "USA won the war, without us, France would be nazis", I replied "so stupid sentence, the war was mainly won by the Soviets and the British with the help of all resistance all around Europe", and then they reply "no we have less dead than them" , so hilarious.
Criminals so called dissidents are using United Ireland as a excuse to dominate there criminal empire, there will never be United Ireland because Irish population will commit suicide if they took in Ulster. Sorry but wrong answer from LiamDude regarding British Isles.
The United Kingdom = Northern Ireland (Ulster), Scotland, Wales and England.
Great Britain - the largest island of the British Isles hence Great(er) Britain.
The British Isles = those islands north of Brittany (France) which consist of Britons (Celtic tribes) (Roman derivation).
So yes, from a classic Roman perspective ALL peoples of the two Islands are Britons (note: NOT British).

@MrSuperkrap You obviously don't know your stuff, you american's didn't 'save' us Brits because your 'nice' you did it because of your own country's reason's to end foreign uprising, because you just have to be the big dogs all the time.
JosephUre 8 months ago
@MrSuperkrap Idiot American, we won the battle of Britain before you even joined plus America thought in the pacific you only took part in one battle in Europe
DaleWF10 6 months ago
@DaleWF10 Europe was the Commonwealths theatre, we fought at El Alamein, we took Caen, we fought the U-Boats. USSR took Berlin, not USA, USA didnt declare war on Germany, the interventionist movement was a minority and the only reason the US was involved in the european theatre was Germany declared war on them. USA was only really engaged alongside Commonwealth forces in the Pacific. America did very little in Europe compared with others. Good on you for putting that guy right.
liamdude4 5 months ago 28
@liamdude4 Thanks, it really riles me up when Americans try to make out they saved us when they did very little to help us

@DaleWF10 yeah like "we saved your asses in ww1/2" xD
liamdude4 5 months ago
@liamdude4 Indeed Western Europe was us the Britons, the Commonwealths, the French, and the Poles theater, but Eastern Europe was the Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians, Poles, Latvians, Estonians, and Lithuanian's theater.
MrEnglandsFinest 4 months ago
@liamdude4 Except the liberation of Scily the 3rd army into paris the Normandy landings the lend lease act feeding you ungreatful sub human Soviets and Angletaire . Also the Liberation of Rome . Lets look at battles you commanded Dunkirk and market garden . Great job there laddie
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 2 words. El Alamein. Or perhaps Stalingrad, the turning point in the eastern theatre? The Italian front was very insignificant in the great scheme of it. If the russians had folded, the germans would've secured the oilfields in the caucus, or if they'd succeeded in Africa they'd have gained access to the colonial positions and the suez canal. Plus, America was forced into the war, it never willingly entered. Britain and France took a stand against Germany, not America.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 Stalingrad was a Falurie for the Good Side . And El alamein good your asses got rammed to egypt before you could stand against superior Germans . If russia folded they would have lost true but they would take a lot of germans out using US vechiles under lendlease . America could have refused to Fight Germany refused England supplies AA guns and Destroyers it used to protect Britian . Remmeber lend lease you snooby useless englishman . We loaned you tools of survival for low cost .
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 I have so many problems with your comment that I am stooping low enough to reply. Stalingrad resulted in the destruction of the German 6th army, and the faltering of the german offensive in the region, America couldnt have refused to fight, Germany declared war in support of the japanese, American support for willingly helping their allies was tiny. El alamein was a huge moral and strategic success for the allied forces, it gave hope to a beleaguered force.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 And resaulted in Bolstered bolshevikism if Germany haden't attacked poland your kind would had sided with old nazi krauts against bolshevikism . America could refuse to fight Germany and if you think the Lend Lease act which feed England and Gave her arms and ammuniton t stand against the kraut onsalught you're an idiot of your own history . 98% of locomotives the USSR built were made in the United States and carred over by USMM
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 If germany hadn't attacked poland and begun the shadow of terror it sought to cast over all europe, then why would we need to be enemies with them? The lend lease act, was over a year past the start of WW2, and only nine months prior to the attack on Pearl Harbour, and it didnt give us our arms and ammunition, it loaned us equipment such as Tanks and Artillery Tractors not ammunition, and unless you eat tanks, it didnt feed us either. And dont spew "what if" scenarios, its pointless.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 If not for England harsh treatment of the german people blaming them for slavic assasins starting the war and forcing them to pay and take the blame Hitler woudn't have taken over Germany but no you English types wanted to blame the german people . Also we fed the glorious RED army for years and armed it the city of staligrad stood fed with US grain and fought with US rounds . We were always selling your weak island supplies don't be an revisonist
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 Basically all of that you just said is false. Your "lend lease" agreement did not cover any articles of food or for that matter ammunition, seeing as how your Neutrality Acts forbade such a trade. So, you cannot claim that they fought "with US rounds" when at the time your own government refused to SELL arms and war equipment. Hence the name, lend-lease, thats a loophole in that Act. Oh, and the weak island that kept the shipping lanes open.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 As the United States started losing her sons in 1939 to feed you idiots in england with the lives of our merchant marines. And we violate our law when it suits us you english had a similar ideals
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 You seriously need to read up on your history friend, seeing as how you're just making things up. For one, America DID NOT FEED BRITAIN. We have always relied on trade to keep Britain supplied with food, so why would we all of a sudden need your food. America never "violated" their law, unless you believe that democracy can be put aside as and when it suits your country, which would make you a "sub-human", to take one of your own insults.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 we violated our neatural status when we traded with you to feed you . We put aside the strict law to feed you and all the refugess you dragged across the isle .
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 Wrong. Stop saying you fed us, before I am forced to explain to you where food comes from.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 your food came from United States Merchant marine Convoys
TThorne931 2 months ago
@TThorne931 No it did not, it came from a myriad of countries that had export deals that preceeded the war, such as south africa, or india. I can hardly believe you did not know how food comes into Britain, the Royal Merchant Navy was responsible for UK registered shipping that entered the country, and it was the British Navy that fought the U-Boats, as well as the Italian and German fleets. Next time do some research before making ridiculous claims.
liamdude4 2 months ago
@liamdude4 You know, many Americans died in Europe, too. Maybe not as much as any other country, but Americans were still lost. Even if the US was not as involved in Europe, there were still American casualties, and I feel that your comment is disrespectful to them. You do not see me disrespecting British casualties in Europe, so why must you disrespect American casualties?
And I don't want to be enemies with British people. The UK may have been the US's first enemy, but the UK is also...
SirSnivyofNottingham 1 month ago
@SirSnivyofNottingham ...one of the US's longest and largest allies. I honestly feel betrayed that American casualties are disrespected as such by a Briton. It feels like your best friend is pissing on your dead cousin's grave, then demonizing you.
SirSnivyofNottingham 1 month ago
@SirSnivyofNottingham I never disrespected American casualties, I am merely proceeding to correct somebody who is clearly wrong and is trying to paint the war as being a "US saves the world" situation, which I find to be the most prevalent sentiment amongst Americans. I have great awe over some American achievements, I just have more admiration for that of other nations, such as the Free French, or the Russians, as their contributions to the war were fervent.
liamdude4 1 month ago
@liamdude4 Well one your Commonwealth Nation, also mine Named the Commonwealth of Australia was under threat by japanese, we barely held them back. We thank America for mostly the Equipment they supplied us with plus that extra men to help us push the Japs back to Japan.
owen82100 1 month ago
@owen82100 I agree? I thank them as well, they did a damned good job in the Pacfic theatre, so they can tell you aussies that they saved your asses. But they can't say that to me.
liamdude4 1 month ago
@liamdude4 that's what i say to the US-American when they tell me "USA won the war, without us, France would be nazis", I replied "so stupid sentence, the war was mainly won by the Soviets and the British with the help of all resistance all around Europe", and then they reply "no we have less dead than them" , so hilarious.
