I hava a problem. I have 112MB memory left of 40 GB on drive C: Local Disk...(there are all WINDOWS files :\ ) i cleaned up disk.... i got 140MB... then after 5 minutes, again!! 100MB!..Where did my 40MB go? and that like all time!!! :\

you can do as i have. with any new gaming unit after 2007 you will have a nice size hard drive on them... just take all you music and media and move it... and now you have a lot of free space your laptop and a cool new media center in your home or office...

You can Always transfer them on to a USB Flash Device then delete what you don't want

DannyCazza, your hard drive's file system is probably FAT16 or FAT32, which can support files of up to 4 GB (FAT32). I don't know about FAT16, but if that's the case, reformat your hard drive to NTFS.

You can see how much space you have by going to my computer and than right click on Local Disk and then click on properties and you can see.

go to start>all programs>accesories>system tools>then disk clean up if ur on a windows it will make ur computer faster and also clear up sum space

try to empty your recycle bin whenever possible. it helped me. dunno if it wld for you. also, delete unwanted cookies from your internet browser. hope that helps

Stop downloading porn. Use a program called CCleaner. Delete Documents you don't use. Get a Flash Drive or External Hard Drive for your documents.

Look up Windows XP Pro Tiny Beast Edition made by eXPerience this windows is fast its ONLY less than 400MB on your Hard drive and 103MB on the ISO Files this should do the trick for everyone.

One thing that might be a problem is if he is using a certain version of Norton. It keeps files even after you delete them and clear the recycle bin. So if he is using Norton he needs to disable that feature.

Explorer XP is a free 3rd party app that searches and organizes ALL of your files and programs. They can appear an a clean list that details the amount of space that these files and programs are using on your hard drive. I just got it and it is very nice.

I use a little program called CCleaner that clears about ever temp file i can think of it only takes about 1MB of free space, he could give it a try. plus try system restore in the disk clean up wizard.

window washer can be quite useful to clear up junk files. and if you want some free software, ccleaner does a great job too.

I would definitely recommend a small program called "SpaceMonger" that gives you a colored treemap of your harddrives and shows every folder and file also shows the size of everything.I found around 10 gigs of old media buried away on my slave drive that I thought I had deleted months ago.

Look in waisted diskspace on the drive. C:\Documents & settings\Yourname\Local Settings\Temp & IE6 folder. Lockups, completed software installations, old cache, fill up when your system locks up,in which does not remove files. Disk cleanup should do it. (Local settings is a hidden folder_

Copy stuff on CD's USB drives in Zip or RAR files. Make sure it's saved, then remove the MP3's MOVIES etc from the PC. Hope that helps
