I tuned in to watch some respected experts give their valued opinions and got Larry whining about a guy who (had they met) would eventually have cut off his "lateral movement" and sent him into dreamland. George Foreman is an inspiration who not only resurrected his career and and his legacy, but his person as well. Get over yourself, Larry. We all know how great that you were. It's okay to admit that someone may have been better...

Holmes had the best left jab in the history of heavyweight boxing, now this opinion is coming from an Ali fan.Holms' jab was as fast but harder he also jabed to the body frequently which was something Ali didn't do that often.Styles make fights and I would have Larry over George.Larry is bitter 'cause during Big Georges' second incarnation Larry wanted to get it on with the big guy, George didnt want anything to do with Larry. They actually signed to fight but George pulled out.Research people!!

It's true; Foreman did have trouble with slicksters, but they had to be at the very top of their game: he's immensely strong. You had to avoid feeling the force of his bombs for 5-6 rounds, then capitalize as he weakened. Holmes was susceptible to a right hand. He was dropped by Shavers when moving to his left after Shavers had been trying for a million dollar righthander with some pretty desperate swings for several rounds. So I say the 1973-4 Foreman beats peak Holmes by round four.

Larry Holmes is bitter at Foremans success & popularity. Its not really Larrys fault--people have some sort of automatic bitterness at the guy who follows a legend. People also thought he was copying Ali. These sorts of things have also happened with Kobe Bryant being the next guy after Michael Jordan in basketball. Foreman had that same 2nd chance success story & charisma that charmed people into loving him.

I think Holmes is a twit. He never gives fighters proper credit. He offered to fight Lennox Lewis in 1996 and said Lewis was a coward for turning him down. Holyfield 'wasn't nothing' and he would have beaten him if he'd been in shape. Tyson was a 'face fighter' who would have been handled easily by Jerry Quarry.

Even if you knock Holmes out, you never get the credit from him.
