  • Question, my first time making an HD pack, do i need to resize every single .png? i tried archiving a test and it isn't showing up on my texture list.

  • @TheInformedCitizenry That's a good question actually. I'd assume yes.

  • so many replys.

  • @nachos908283 Haha yeah, I went on a bit of a reply rampage

  • What is MC patcher?

  • @FlashBash64 It's a program that patches minecraft - allowing it to use HD texturepacks and adding other little features

  • @777static777 @FlashBash64 Or you could just use Optifine.

  • @FlashBash64 n00b

  • @DennisXCXC I've been on since alpha. I haven't used ONE texture pack.

  • @FlashBash64 What?!

  • @madrc570 Sorry mate, I haven't really used paint.net that much so I can't be of much help

  • how does it go into pixels?

  • @bnlpmasters you zoom in *shrug*

  • @777static777 hey how do you make it 32x32 in GIMP?

  • @777static777 uuummm yeah i did, im not 5, i zoomed in and the pixel grid never showed up

  • Ilmiles5112 you probably painted what it looks like in your inventory not what the real armour looks like

  • @corkeyllonthebus just click on auto detect or watever it says

  • hey man you helped me out alot thanks bro/many smiles

  • @143Kewl Happy to help =)

  • static any guide for how to make my own sky?

  • @Hero0fhellaS No idea, sorry

  • Is it possible to make things in lower textures? What I mean is, can I make a 32x32 texture pack sword into a 16x16 or do I need to draw it as close as I can?

  • @Lauriic54 yep, you should be able to make a 16x16 or even an 8x8 (if you wanted to) texture pack. It should be pretty much the same as making a HD pack, just you make it smaller instead of larger

  • Hey thanks for the video, but i put my texture pack in the texture pack folder and in minecraft don´t appear the texture pack

  • @obedlaws you need to make sure you're putting the zipped folder in there - not the unzipped folder.

  • @eidboy123 yeah I think so, you just have to make a layer ontop of the original and use your paint tool.

  • Is it possible to create the stone and everything from scratch?

  • @eidboy123 Yeah, for sure. But make it using the terrain.png grid as a template

  • That was awesome if i didn't say it already. I was wondering how you got the steps bubble on your vid. Thanks. Ciao

  • @volnumer Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it =) I added a title using Adobe Premiere

  • @BlackxPanther Hehe I doubt that's legal =p

  • @777static777 How can i make the background transparant with Paint.Net?

  • @BucketHeadMC just use Eraser and you should see little checkerboard pixels, those will be transparent ingame :D hope this helps

  • percentappdatapercent.......is that right?

  • @YoGlitcha yep

  • If u want to find like a grass block where do u want to go to find it

  • @Eletivivre1960 most of the things you'll want to edit will be in that terrain.png

  • help me- my glass and torches aren't transparent D: I dont know how to make them transparent

  • @MegaChr1sty It sounds to me as though you have used a program that doesn't support transparency. Make sure to use a program that supports transparency

  • 10 people used word to edit their texture pack.

  • @FlahBash64

    That happens to me once

It's because I didnt install MCPatcher?

    Did you?

  • What is the format you used for making the steps pop out like the little transparent background. What format???

  • can anyone help me? is gimp better than pain.net for this stuff?

  • Thank u so much

  • @Ethano125 no problem =)

  • For some reason, when i make a 512 pixel file it makes the netherrack look like water. Some other blocks like bricks and pumpkins look strange.

  • @FlashBash64 make sure you're using MC Patcher - it allows you to use HD packs

  • Please reply: How would i save this for a skin?

I'm using photoshop, and i edited the skin in 128x64.

  • thank you!!!

  • @DJsuyat No problem =)

  • how do u edit the tools like the pick axe and all tht?

  • @lego310 In the GUI folder there is a .png called items. Edit that

  • There are some textures in terrain.png that I don't know what they are. The very first one is one I can't figure out and then there's a gray one that looks like upside down partially grown wheat

  • @SmashhoofTheOriginal Mess around with things and see what they do - so long as you keep back-up texturepacks, you wont do any damage to the game =)

  • Hey everybody when you resize it in gimp, there is no nearest neighbor, so instead you select none under quality. Hope this helps :)

  • Dude I wanna French Kiss you!!!!!

  • @IProButter Hahaha thanks... I guess =p

  • holy charles darwin. i love you

  • @CupCakes2TheMax hehe I'm flattered =)

  • This was very helpful, thank you Static :)

  • @Debu233 Happy to help =)

  • omg it worked THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!

  • @TheMovieWatcher627 No problem - have fun =)

  • THANK YOU

  • @MRSeverin27 My pleasure =)

  • how to do with gimp ?

  • How come when you zoom in on photoshop you have a whole bunch of guides between each pixel, how do I do that? Also why is my brush taking a few clicks to go full colour (its set to full opacity)

  • @Fuhziee no idea - it just automatically did that for me =p as for the brush issue - use the pencil instead of a brush.

  • hd = "heych dee"

    XD

  • @Dan48001 you noticed I have an accent - congratulations

  • @777static777 Sorry! Its not a bad thing. One of my good friend says "da" instead of "the". I say "idear" all the time.

  • @Dan48001 Hehe no problem mate - no offense taken =)

  • Hey static what ic I Want to make my own HUD us that the inventory health food lvl and xp? thx for the tut that really helps me ouy

  • Hey static, I made templates in .psd for creation of texture packs! All resolutions, 8x8, 16x16 and all forth to 512x512. They can be used in Photoshop, Gimp and Paint.net (with a plugin). I made a thread on the forum, but I don't see why it isn't famous... it's very useful... Here's the link (delete the spaces): tinyurl . com / 7tv32fp

I wish you like it, and spread the word, making a video for example! That would be very wonderful!

  • @umcarainteressante That's a good idea man. However I think the reason it's not 'famous' is because generally anyone who is seeking to make a texturepack that isn't a 16x16 pack already knows how to resize the pack, and it's a pretty simple procedure. So you'd be targeting quite a small market with it.

  • @777static777 - Well, actually my templates help a lot more people, because every block have its layer, and the layers are named (some blocks are so strange that's hard to figure out what are their purpose in the game). The armor templates also show out how the armor is rendered in the player, pointing out which part is the front of the chestplate, which is the back of the helmet and so on.

But THANKS on answering me, I tought you'd just ignore me because of how many comments you recive daily :D

  • how do u get it to open up in gimp?

  • @PilsburyDohBo I've never actually used gimp - all I know is that it is an image editor that supports transparency and that people often use for making texturepacks. So, sorry no idea

  • @PilsburyDohBo You right click on a file, for example terrain.png and click edit with GIMP. Hope I helped, if you have any more questions just ask.

  • i love you.

  • @hakizaki Feeling is mutual =p

  • Damn how come every Australian is not only awesome, has a sexy accent but is also a minecraft pro? I want to move to Kangaroo-land now.

  • @777static777 You are amazing static! Im working on a nice texture pack and give you credit :D

  • @emil98dk thank you, but there is no need to credit me - I'm happy to help =)

  • I didnt know making an HD texture pack was as simple as resizing the picture

  • @MrSeniorVerde I know, it was a surprise for me when I found out as well. The thing is though, with a HD texture pack you have more pixels to work with which can be a pain if you're not the creative type (like myself).

  • Thanks Static this really helped

  • Thankyou static this really helped

  • @HolocastGaming happy to help =)

  • great tutorial, helped out alot and if you are making your own texture pack, will it be available for download?

  • @xcraazyshotz yeah probably =) although I wont be making any major changes to it.

  • why do you say hetchde?l

    epic fast typing btw

  • @alabalacr2 Some people say "Aich" other people say "Haich"... to-may-to, to-mah-to, my friend

  • @777static777 thanks for the reply

  • @777static777 thank you once again I'm making my own texture pack now that I know how to

  • Great tutorial ; ] helped a lot, easy and quick :D Thanks Static :D

  • @Eragonka1 thanks man, glad you enjoyed it =)

  • @777static777 Actually, I'm a girl : P no bother anyways : ]

  • for some reason my water and lave changes though... any help?

  • @KodeR3D7 well I'd have to know what kind of change was happening to the water and lava and even then it could be for a number of reasons =\

  • Hey static, I'm trying to change one of the blocks in my texture pack to be a slightly transparent block, like with ice where you can see through it a bit. One of the blocks that I don't use is the Lapiz block, so I filled it with my colour and changed the transparency of the layer to 30% (making it see through), then merged it with the original layer.

When I put it back in my texture pack and go back into minecraft though, the block isn't transparent and is just the solid color. Know a fix? :)

  • @CrippledHoboTV tbh no. That sounds like it should work. Make sure you're actually selecting your custom texturepack when you're playing minecraft =p

  • @CrippledHoboTV you cannot make non-transparent blocks transparent, only blocks that have the property ''glass'' to it, if you leave blank pixels on them you will not see the texture under it, thus you'll just see the void

  • @CrippledHoboTV You have to change that in the actual block properties

  • When changing the image size, you could just click on the drop-down "pixels" on the right side, change it to "percent" and just use 200% to double the image size.

  • @California292292 thanks for the tip =)

  • u r awesome, subbed!

  • @MitchReyno thanks man, much appreciated =)

  • Corel PaintShop Pro Also supports Transparencies. That's the program I use.

  • @ElevatorGuy7200 yeah there are probably a bunch of other programs out there that support transparency but that I forgot to mention. So long as it supports transparency, it should do the job =)

  • Thanks mate Your a ledgend!

  • @SuperCreeperBros1 No worries mate, happy to help =)

  • I love your vids don't get me wrong but how do likes help you out?

  • @Josham101 Because when someone likes a video, it shows up in their activity feed. Their friends are then able to see this and are likely to watch the video as a result. Also, videos can earn honours if they get enough likes which can put them on the front page of YouTube. Also, I get the feeling it boosts my adsense revenue, but I could be wrong.

It's mostly that it helps to get the video out there.

  • static:whats up guys its static here with another QUICK minecraft video

me: *looks at the vidio length*

    me: D: 12 MINUTES!!!!!!!1

  • @mclover0220 haha dude, 12 minutes is very quick compared to, say, my slime farm tutorial =p

  • You forgot 1024x1024 There are texturepacks that have this ability BUT almost no computer can handle this.

  • @zaperatus haha well yeah, there are a couple of sizes I didn't mention... I should have said "4 main sizes"

  • Thanks :D

  • I love you, no homo

  • @cobojojo thanks mate =)

  • will this work with adobe photosop elements 9

  • @Cptpainter no idea - never used it. If it supports transparency, then yes.
