Since this is a semi auto and gas operated, would it have less recoil then a 44 magnum in a revolver form, due to some of the gases and recoil energy being used to operate the slide?
@mlb0226 You are probably correct in thinking that. The principals of operation of a gas operated action would support that contention. I have only fired the gun once, and have no definitive information.
Think a 5'8" 110lbs 15 year old with a lot of shooting experience could handle a round or two from this? I may or may not have an opportunity coming up to fire the .44 Mag version.
@GsxRaider I don't have a preference. Some guy came along and offered to let me shoot it. I took advantage of the chance and made a video of it so I could enjoy the experience later. The bigger the better as far as I'm concerned.
@GsxRaider i wood perfer the 44 my self just cuzz of ammo cost and awilabilaty i live in canada so 50 AE is harder to come by and like 50 buck for 20 rounds when 44 mag will go for 35 or so for SP 50 round box of S&B
Oooo I'm so jealous. Yours didn't jam up like mine does. I've tried spraying du pont silicone in it to keep it performing flawless like my other guns. but it's the only gun that's given me more problems than I expected. But other than that it's a fun gun to shoot.
@Aqueries44 this is a high quallity pistol lightly loaded or reloaded rounds will not load the next round.i own a 44mag i love my eagle keep it clean and buy only name brand(remington, winchester) mine will spit em out fast as you can pull the trigger.....look up my vid on here
@lisolangka This was the first and only time I got to shoot this weapon. I wanted to show what it looked like and how it operated in the video, so I pulled it open and let it close more slowly. There was no pushing.
Cool gun. A bit overpriced, yes. But come on. Obviously most people with half a brain knows that most people aren't going to use a Desert Eagle for a carry piece. I think it was originally designed as a military arm, but it makes a great hunting gun. I have one in .44 Magnum blued. Easily takes down game. And they are much more accurate than people will give them credit for. I've never had any problems with mine. But I keep it spotless as with all my guns.
even a 444 Marlin? or a 45-70 (Cowboy)? or a 450 Marlin? or a 450 Dakota? or a 458 Win. Mag? or a 458 Lott? or a 460 Wby. Mag? or a 12 Guage? or a 10 Guage? or a 308 Winchester? or a 308 Winchester Magnum? or a 338 Lapua Magnum? or a 50. BMG? or a 12.7x108 mm? or a 14.5x114mm? or a 20mm? or a 40mm? or a 75 mm M3 L/40 gun? or a 76.2 mm? or a 105 mm L52 M68 rifled cannon? or a 120 mm Rheinmetall L55 smoothbore gun? or a 125 mm 2A46M smoothbore gun? or a 128 mm (5 in) KwK 44 gun L/55?

honestly performance wise the shooter notices more than the possible assailant will. it prob doesn't matter whether you're hit with a .44mag or a .50AE, you're gonna go down either way
@mibjo021 the .44 Magnum desert eagle (the one in this video) has 8.. the .50AE has 7.. essentially, bigger bullet, lower capacity, this isnt ALWAYS true though.
To tell the truth, I really didn't notice. This was a spur of the moment opportunity to get to shoot the gun, and it is the only time I've shot one. It took a couple of rounds to get a feel for it. It is big, but still felt good int he hand. I was not distracted by the trigger at all.
@LowKeyLanding i was looking though gunbroker at these, and found one for 1400, with a .44 barrel and a .50 barrel, a great deal considering that the barrel alone is like... 300-400
those guns are just beautiful

@LowKeyLanding either way u should never "ride" the round (hold the loading mechanism will it loads the bullet) it might load the round incorrectly
