it's a comedy. it's about for 4 high IQ roommates who live together. they hang out, talk about science and math they're working on, and do nerdy things. they befriend a girl down the hall. she is attractive and doesn't get they're humor and references right away... she catches on quick at least with some things... i've seen like 4 episodes... very funny stuff.

Basically all the nerds have certain character traits that make them funny and one of the nerds is trying to date the neighbor girl. The big bang theory is the most commonly accepted theory about the creation of the universe. Most physisists believe our universe began from an incrediably small point billions of years ago, and exploded. There are lots of websites that can explain this better though.

I will admit that no idea in science is perfect, and theories are always changing to fit new info. However, the big bang theory is the best we have according to current data. Bear in mind it is difficult to study something that occurred 13.7 billion years ago.
