@boots992134 Well of course she doesn't speak that way to you, you wouldn't understand. Do all foreign students in your university speak to you in their native languages? I doubt it, they probably talk to you in standard English. Nobody said that Jamaicans can't speak standard English; this is just the native speech of Jamaica.
@nodeue she has a habit of sometimes without thinking to read a few words in patois, in fact there are students who still speak thier own language all the time while in college

It depends what region you are from. If you live in the cities it's very unlikely that you will speak patois.
