The words are not by Teresa of Ávila. My own research suggests that they are partly by a London Methodist poreacher, Mark Guy Pearse (1842-1930), and partly by a Quaker, possibly John Wilhelm Rowntree (1868-1905), or possibly Sarah Elizabeth Rowntree (dates unknown, but floruit at around the same time as the other two).
