  • Great stuff Steve. You make woodworking FUN! Keep it up!

  • you took your time making that one,did you get a mate to help you you know a second hand,

wait a minute i've just clocked what I wrote , I must go I can't face any more.

  • That was really cool. Thanks

  • Excellent Diedrich Bader imopression.

  • I still dont understand Steve; I live in Southeastern Ohio and I find this video humorous. Please dont change who you are and why you started this youtube channel. Apparently some people arn't "Mere Mortals" like us ;-)...

  • I think it's pretty funny that you covered in 4 minutes what Mark took 10 to cover. Not knocking his videos, I subscribe to him and love his work. Just an observation. :)

  • BTW if you ever want to make a french episode, don't hesitate to chime in for hints ^^

  • @steve: yeah oldtimer, remember you told us mere mortals about that most disturbing comment you received last year! ;)

  • Hey Steve, You should do a video and imitate Italians! I am Italian and I wouldn't be offended in the least! I think you would do a good job at it! Your a funny guy! Everyone knows you don't mean to offend anyone! Well... Maybe not everyone... :-p

  • i wish i had the talent that you do with wookworking. i just need to get the right size tools all i got now is a homemade scrollsaw that my grandpa made and a benchtop bandsaw

  • It is just these people that makes so many nice moments makes in our lives.

Although I'm a clown, it makes me laugh every time what you do and how it brings it.

    And that with woodworking !!

    Nice !!

  • If you offended by this or anything else Steve does..........seek help. Steve is the last guy to offend or want to upset everyone. Try watching his videos and have fun. If you want to be offended watch C Span.

  • Comment removed

  • That's actually a charming version of a Southern accent.

  • I did like your design but I think if you'd made so it "gimballed" (is that even a word?) kind of like a gyro that woukd have been really cool.

  • Real swell

  • Nothing to do with this video but is your router a 1/2 or 1/4 collet?

  • @ialamont22312 It's both...changeable collets. But all my bits are 1/4".

  • hi there what size clock did you use because i am finding it quite hard to get a small clock like yours also where could i get one as i live in the uk thx

  • @chaddythewoodpecker It's actually from an old clock I had that broke. (The frame part.) Most craft stores sell clocks. You can also get them at Rockler (dot com)

  • What type of wood was the frame made out of? Great Video!

  • @TheDeltaFlight The frame is walnut.

  • LOL Love it educational comedy BTW you're clock is better in my opinion I'd say its an improvement on The Wood Whisperers version

  • salut, tu es simplement génial, merci :)

  • Next time try some parchment paper instead of the waxed paper. Found in the same place as the waxed paper, it uses silicone and is less likely to have glue and stuff adhere to it.

  • Very well put together.

  • :-D

  • Howdy there partner. I must say that there was mighty entertaining.

  • Delightful as usual

  • lol, groucho marx called, he wants his stash back !

  • No, no, you did not copy him, you just help The Wood Whisperer by teaching him how it should have been done;-)

  • Too funny. Tahnks

  • Yea, I say, Yea, that's what you sound like, boy! Pay attention when I'm talking to you, boy! 8-D

  • Tu versión es mas entretenida

  • @ingeniobusca Haha

  • @ingeniobusca Yes, definitely. With a lot less resources Steve show is a lot more fun to watch XD.

  • Great. Now my wife wants me to wear one of those mustaches. Thanks...really....thanks a lot.

  • On the drama about the accent: for the frenchie that I am, I think that every little difference in accent brings a different mood, which makes for a nice, funny hommage. Here I really felt like I was in the southwest with an oldtimer building a clock. Thanks for the free trip Steve :)

  • @Sodabowski Wait, what? Oldtimer? Haha...

  • Wackher or lacquer? I about hit the ole lady when you said this. Just followin em directions. J/k keep up the entertainment.

  • Ah, your clock is similar to Marc's but it's not a copy. I don't think Marc would mind, and if he does, well $#^*%#!

    Jus' kidding, Marc.

  • Hey Steve, Nice clock. I think perhaps some metal rods to replace the dowels would add something to the look, but the dowels look good, too. I have to say your southern accent needs a little work, but then there are so many dialects around that there's probably someone around that talks just like that. Take care and keep up the good work!

    Larry

  • @Larenzoid I think using brass rods is a great idea. It would be cool to use really thin ones. They would be strong enough and the clock would look like it was really floating.

I think I sound like Foghorn Leghorn.

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm slots!!

  • Great video! I really enjoyed it!

    Next one:

    guetto something...

  • That's just a great video Steve, you are NOT making fun of anyone, just having a bit of fun, well done you put a smile on my face and please don't take any notice of any negative comments you are bringing wood working to us Mere Mortals. Keep up the good work!

  • I guess you need to make one with a Boston accent to please everybody.

Get a cuppa cwoffee and youa sar and go to work.

  • People keep talkin' about yer funny acksent, but I don heer won.

Ignore them thair rainbow necks who are off ended.

All at cirkl cuttin' made me dissy.

Yew shore can make sumpthin' purty out a chunka wood.

  • Great Vid to all those that complain, a bit of humor makes it that much more fun to watch!

  • Great video. Made me laugh so hard! Where do you find music that's non licensed like that? I'd love to add music to my videos but they say it has to be non-licensed, I think.

  • @Sineath Soundsnap (dot) com

  • with all do respect. thats a migthy fine clock you made ther boy :)

  • I shore dew love yer board with that there bolt in it, looks like it works as good as a hawg trap on a warm summer night! I checked out that there "W.W." fellaz video and shut er down half way... He would be as gosh dang boring as watching horse pucks dry in da middle of one of dem dare fields with horses in em.

You shore got yerself a purdy clock outa dat dare thingy majig, it's more purdy then my sister... err wife... errr ummm.... it's purdy!

  • @BADABOOM99 Don't mean any of my accents to be offensive. They are just really bad. You should hear my English accent. Wait, I have done that before. Now THAT's bad!

  • LOL

  • Aren't the golden drill bits for drilling metal? Titanium coated for that purpose.

  • Great video well done

  • its a nice project pity you diffident use a lathe

  • I expected you to have some sort of accident due to your funny accent. Nice project to start the new year.

  • The simplicity of this project for how overly complex this looks is amazing, this is why I am subscribed to you Keep up the good work and Happy New year :D

  • Great project, I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming!! :)

  • Not offensive just funny and educational!

  • Thanks for the circle cutting jig for the band saw. I just got me a band saw and jigs are king!

  • @NJEsperantist I considered making a circle jig for my router, but for something this small the band saw seemed a better choice,

  • @stevinmarin My little bandsaw is a recent acquisition. Twice I cut circles with my table saw sled. It was not an operation for the feint of heart. Band saw seems safer. Thanks for these vids!

  • @NJEsperantist Use the thinnest blade you can to avoid the band saw marks I got. (I was just too lazy to change the blade.

  • I thought it was a nice design but I'm not sure if I should be offended or not, being from the south I feel as if you're making fun of several of my family members and friends. Maybe throw in a disclaimer next time saying you're just doing it for funsies.

  • @joewhitefse Wow, I never considered it making fun of them.

  • @stevinmarin Maybe I misread your intent. It just seemed like a passive aggressive way of discrediting their work, or methods. That was my take from the outside looking in. What do I know?

  • @joewhitefse

    Not much.

  • @00dahc Well, what I do know is you wouldn't have the balls to say that to my face. I was making an observation, on the way I saw it, based on a number of videos, not just this one.. You don't know me, you little troll, so go talk shit to someone else. Your opinion doesn't mean anything to me. I get tired of pussies that talk shit from a distance.

  • @joewhitefse Dang, someone's cranky!

  • "go git yurself a saw! " :D

  • Love your safty demonstrations, just by the book:-)

  • What is the mustacheee made of?? LOL

  • funny video... and a nice idea... not to hard for a woodworking noob like me... :D

  • Oh come on! You're not borin' that out "yea deep," you're borin' that out a fur piece.

    XD

  • The Statue of Limitations has probably pasted so I don't think Marc would mind. Except for the mustache, You've seen the photo he with his sombrero? :)

  • So much spinnin there i'm dizzy!

  • Don't worry about it Steve. You probably saw it on LumberJocks, as many many people made this and posted them on there. I even made a few, which is unlike me to follow someone else's design so close.

  • "spinnen kind of like my granny after dippen into the moonshine"

    that was great, lol

  • To everything spin spin spin...............

  • Spoken like a true Hoosier! Yas sir, that there that he done did say.

  • Mustache made from wood too? :)

  • Did you hear about the blind carpenter that picked up a hammer and saw?

  • Third!

  • too much spinning.

  • First!More,more,more,more videoooos :D
