i really dont like the term ftw for some reason but since you mentioned evernote im gonna have to say it.. EVERNOTE FTW!

i use it in the same way as yourself. i never got around to it but had an idea of adding tags to a note after recording something on the geetar or whatever, like what key its in, what fret the capo was on etc, chord progressions used maybe, cos its way too easy to jott down some idea in evernote, after a while you end up thousands of notes and its a bit of a mare to sort out!

Thanks for your insights Dave, you really are sharing a lot of what you know. I'm amused with the idea of using keyword research for inspiration and in turn, exposure.

I've also always been a little bit at odds with the music I make and its availability especially when I hear people say "if you're good at something, never do it for free", that kind of goes against why I make music.. though when you're poor, it can play with your mind. Either way, I have always made my music free.

Another important thing imo: even if becoming successful in music making is your dream, don't think that your subs on YT or how many people like you on Facebook or how many followers you have on Twitter or Soundcloud is the most important thing in the world, because it's not! I see many DJs who seem to think that these numbers mean everything and it's the topic of most posts they make, which is sad and mostly annoying, cause it creates distance.
