Many of the paintings that now hang in museums and are valued in the millions, were made by artists who died dirt poor and without receiving any real recognition, while they were alive.
Not everyone gets the recognition they deserve, when they deserved it.
Nowadays, there are plenty of artists who are super popular and have huge fanbases, despite being completely devoid of talent.

This is how they looked before they became fashion whores and right pofters. Their biggest influences were rockabilly and the Misfits. And no, AFI doesn't get better than this, this record was awesome. Today they look like those fucking Japanese bands.
Its not that we are bitching, its just that it was sad to see such a good hardcore/punk band sell out...kinda. They just wanted to be in the spotlight again after Sing the Sorrow, so thats where the more popular sound came in from, because they loved the spotlight. Sing the Sorrow was amazing, and the spotlight just rubbed off on them. Thats why some are complaining, becuase punk is dying, and AFI was just another casualty.
