@JSneaker better safe than sorry with that huge old engine. Actually, I think the carb needs some work because I don't think the float is holding fuel like it should. It just makes it far easier to prime it a little before cranking even if it has just been sitting for a few minutes.
Yeah, I love the force of the air expelled from the exhaust. Its crazy :)
@ressedue OH YES, exhaust it HOT! I love watching guys blackening stuff near the tailpipes of old flooded vehicles. I know I am not the only one who does! (: Also, you're not the only one to prime the engine even if warm. I once met a young guy who had a great old '67 Mustang. He shut the engine off and got out to talk to me for a few minutes, then had to leave, and he really pumped the gas several times hard then started it!
I like the way the tailpipe blows the leaves! It's interesting that you pumped the gas twice even though it was "warm".
