California has a severe natural gas shortage. This is because the state uses natural gas to produce electricity which is criminal! People like these celebrity idiots opposed nuclear power (even when not in their backyard). Now there isn't enough natual gas to go around so they are trying to bring it in via LNG and Malibu is the only suitable location. These people are liberal hypocrites. If it wasn't for the fact innocent people would be hurt I'd like to see a Tsunami take out Malibu.

In the 60's I and many other locals fought a proposal to put a causeway from Santa Monica to Pt Magu. The real purpose of the proposal was to get around laws that prohibited offshore drilling in Santa Monica Bay.

We won, but the greed merchants have been trying to exploit the Bay for years. Good on the people who oppose the LNG plant and shame on people who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing. Why not put a moratorium on further development instead?

And about the fish. Unless the LNG was spilled straight into a whale's blowhole the most damage to marine life would be a few dead surrounding fish due to the rapid drop in sea temp that would occur. These terminals are also 14 miles away! Even if gale force winds were blowing the vapors straight towards Malibu it still wouldn't make it. The vapors would have risen and completely evaporated. There has got to be more important issues the celebs could be addressing.

The animadversions that these vessels are floating bombs capable of wiping out Californians are ridiculous. Here are some facts that the Rileys don't seem to mention in their scare tactic videos. LNG is a cryogenic LIQUID (Liquefied Natural Gas) that cannot be ignited unless it is exposed to the atmosphere which doe not happen during cargo operations.

What about broad beach? The rich homeowner's assoctn hired private security on quads to harass families enjoying the beach and they didn't stop there. The beach below hightide line is public prop so the homeowners literally had the beach bulldozed to keep people out. Calif coastal commission went beserk and sued them. Surfrider had a protest but no celebs showed up even though many at the LNG protest live in Broad Beach (very expensive section of Malibu)

The irony is that Malibu has the dirtiest water in LA county year round..why dont we stop that? because Its caused by the rich home owners of malibu.Inadequate sewage infustructure and almost all of the houses are built with septic tanks. These tanks inadequate,old,leak water into malibu creek which ends up at surfrider beach. Well I guess the celebs don't care if some 5 year old gets a staph infection and dies from their crap.
