Really love the play between her finger cymbal playing & the drummer. More & more I am falling in love with the Vintage style of dance & costumes. Greetings from Delaware
Yes that Arabian Melodies tape featured a young Suhaila Salimpour. They were dancing to Dr. Sami Farag's music. That tape was recently released to DVD a couple years ago.
Yes, Shadiah traveled a lot in the 80's and 90's. I should be grateful to her. Because she travelled so often, I was able to get into a regular slot at Bouzoukee Lounge in Greektown, where she normally danced when in town. But we eventually worked together and became great friends even though, as you can see from watching the videos are styles are vastly different, the love of the dance is the same.
wonderful, how do people play their zills so fast?

Yes, it is very rare to even see a dancer dance to live band nowadays. Such a shame.

Seriously GOOD dancing. So nice to see, especially from an American. Too bad we don't see this caliber these days....

I still love her cane dance on the Arabian Melody's tape. (which somebody swiped from me). Fortunately, I had copied it to practice to.
Excellant dancer, and her costumes are gorgeous!

Yes she is the same Shadiah from Dr. Samy Farag's, Arabian Melodies with Suhaila Salimpour. Shadiah makes all of her costumes and most of mine.
