I have been playing this since it's release. i find it extremely flawed, stiff controls and a terrible practice mode. move lists are incomplete and not clear (descriptions of terms and symbols). The preview videos showed this as an rpg, which the psn description has finally made clear that it is a fighter.

online play is limited to america and i spent 2 days looking and waiting for an opponent. i still havent played anyone online.

all i can say is dont waste your time, get MvsC2 or tekken 6

I own and love this game, M vs C2 can somewhat compare, since they're both styled like street fighter, but tekken no; in addition to having core gameplay it does have plenty of replay value, something you'll literally spend at least a month on, i never understand why so many people lump classic styled fighters (street fighter types) with all other fighters: 3d(tekken), group(super smash bros.), there's a great difference in basic gameplay.

i'm guessing you suck at most 2d fighters, or has had your ass rocked in this game so much you hate it, like these guys said in the review it's funnest to play "WITH FRIENDS" playing online you're only going to get bad connections with japanese people; i have this on 360

no, this game just sucks, you can pretty much beat it without trying, most characters have broken combos, and my friends all pretty much agree that this is as bad as time killers and cosmic carnage.

Also "funnest" is not a word. Also you own it on 360 which means you are a casual gamer, and have no great wealth of games to compare it to.

You have validated my point about online play, which many other 2d fighters have great online play.

This game has more to do and much more high production value plus its very original and has online play so i think battle fantasia is the better deal at least in my opinion.

I just bought this for 360 and I think its awesome. The two.5D graphics look absolutely fantastic. Yeah a whole bunch of people say how the best fighter is Soul Caliber 4 and blah blah blah (I'm not disagreeing), but its good to know that we still have really good quality two-D fighting games still coming out. Thanks you Aksys Games for releasing this out here in the states. We hardcore gamers certainly appreciate it.

I dont think too many people know about Battle Fantasia, but I do know that there are a good amount of people playing it online so you should have no problem finding a match. Let me know if you wanna fight sometime online.

I just want to clear up some information that was stated before. There will be a PS3 american version, alongside with the 360 coming out this fall. Battle Fantasia was released in May of 08, not April. Everything else in your review was pretty accurate. I just wanted to correct those mistakes. Beyond that, very good job on this, and I can't wait to play this game.

I just got this to my Pal PS3. I have noticed that the disk is spinning a lot, Why? Could it have something to do with the region. I mean a Jap PS3 game on Pal machine?

No, it's not. Certain game publishers (such as Ubisoft) choose to publish most of their titles with no region coding on the discs, but for pretty much every other company out there, it's all region locked.
