@maciek7arden He is talking about torque elasticity or the torque you get from low low RPMs and all the way to the high revs in a smooth silky way. Almost like a diesel and not like a "sowmachine"(high rev engine torque only) engine that stalls when trying this. The reason he admits he is slow in the start, is that he doesnt want to roast the clutch, as it would be doable as well, but the purpose of the test is the torque, so he is gentle with the clutch till he hits 60kmt(40mph)

The way the z06 is geared it actually reaches its top speed in 5th gear. 6th gear in a z06 is almost like an overdrive gas saving gear, that's why they changed the ratios in the ZR1, so it would actually reach its top speed in 6th gear. Or at least that was the case on the first production run of C6 z06s, I don't know if they changed this in the newer ones.

Ture, for fuel economy as well. The final rear end drive ratio can be easily changed to a (4.10:1 for example) and that would max out 6th too. Or swap to the new tr6060 transmission and that would give better acceleration in all the gears as well...

yeah, jeremy took the 5th gear, but he was out of runway @ about 160kph and you can see that the acceleration is much slower than in this vid... i think it's really the 4th gear here. jeremy should have reached over 310kph in 5th if the runway was longer, 'cause the 6th is just something like an overdrive in the Z06 (only for saving fuel)

There is nothing that touches a Corvette. the 911 is a great car, but they use very different philosophy's to achieve the same ends... there is no way a Boxer Turbo V6 engine can produce the amount of Tq, an LS7 can. Made in Japan by Subaru or by Porsche in Germany.
