you're in one camp or the other...believing that what nature has out there is the better than anything we can devise (with genetic splicing/formation)...OR, you only believe things these "big" scientists tell you, and place ALL your fuckin eggs (trust, FUTURE, OF EVERYONE) in ONE basket....personally, i'd rather not be lumped in unwillingly with these dupes fuckin selling out everyone's future for a short term buck...but, we all have to live with our choices, and the consequences...
@Gunnut880 The UN/World Bank report "The International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology Development" which contained reports from 400 scientists, concluded that biotech crops have very little potential to alleviate poverty and hunger.
@Gunnut880 A study in the journal Renewable Agriculture and Food Systems, based on 293 yield comparisons of plant and animal foods, showed that organic agriculture has the potential to feed the entire human population based on the amount of agricultural land currently in use.
We need more of this kind of stuff in view of the public. All anyone ever does is watch youtube and believe anything they hear, light up a cigarette drink a beer and blame us farmers for their lung cancer and organ failure. Don't bitch about farmers with food in your mouth clothes on your back medicine in your cabinet or gas in your tanks.
Very good video, to all that oppose GMO crops all I have to say is this say that for some odd reason that we go back to raising non GMO corn and beans, this is what would happen one our yeilds would dramatically decrease 2, we would have to start spraying toxic insecticides to battle corn bore and rootworm Beatles and 3 we would have to use other chemicals to control weeds. which in all would lead to increase in food cost because we wouldn't be producing enough to feed our growing population.
Monsanto doesn't care about feeding the world. They want to monopolize food. If their GM crops contaminate another farmers crop. Monsanto will sue that farmer and force them to buy their license or destroy it. They are also working on a terminator seed. The seed won't activate unless you buy the chemical that will allow it to grow for next season. They don't even want you to save seeds.
GMOs is a relatively new technology. It was introduced in food chain during the 90s. We don't know what the long term effects will be on humans yet. GMOs need to stay under the microscope until we know for sure they are safe.
Since GMOs have been introduced into our food chain child obesity has increased, diabetes has increased and heart disease has increased. I'm not a scientist but there seems to be a direct correlation to GMOs and an increase in health problems in this country. Are we sitting in a test tube for this Company called Monsanto to see if there are long term effects for eating GMOs? I would like to think the miracle of science and technology in growing food will benefit the whole world.
Well don't make any speculation there jrm404. Just because health problems are going up doesn't mean the have a correlation with GMO. There so many other factors too.
Monsanto is the future and it is bright. Don't believe these backward commentators, especially like the French investigative journalist Marie-Monique Robin with her book and documentary film "Le monde selon Monsanto". Monsanto has the cleanest track record in the world. Agent Orange, for example, is simply the product of conspiracy theorists' imagination. Nothing else. Let's hope her book and film will not be translated into English. What a waste of time and money that would be.
freakin idiots...a large percentage of the corn is ground up for hogs/cattle ect....not for your canned corn from the super market....stay behind the desk people
So you have no proof, or even scientific basis, you're just saying it causes cancer because cancer scares people and you think everyone should eat organic. Isn't it nice living in the west and having the choice.
I think it's nice to see, regardless of who sponsors this, the other side of this issue. All we are forced to consume these days is fear mongering organic hype. Monsanto appears to be helping farmers be more economical -- nobody is forcing the farmers to use these seeds. They are helping keep affordable food on our tables. What's so evil and nefarious about that? I'd suggest organic black marketing scaring us into paying 100% more for food which is no different is what's evil.
well some of it is good and some of itis right, so far BTcorn seems to be good but what about the other ones, right now I am trying to get info on GM pears, but most of it is like in listing of GM foods and they are workin on it but I don't know what they are changeing in te pear, along with the apple, but I am trying to find both sides of the story, and sometimes that can be kinda hard
I wonder if ignorant people like YOU understand the health affects of GMO's.
If giving millions, if not billions, of people cancer from prolonged ingestion of GMO's is ok with you, then you're the one with a problem and not the "hippie".
hey i know FDA approved vioxx killed 100,000 people in under 5 years . also the FDA allowed macdonalds pesticide potatoes into human consumtion and this was pulled becasue it could cause cancer so maybe not cancer yet, but kill people, yes ! check it out for ur self the FDA has become really corrupt in the past years
I think you are confused. Pesticide =/= GM. They're pretty different things. GM is putting a section of say arctic fish chromosome into tomatoes to make them resistant to cold. Pesticide is spraying a crop with chemicals. Do you see the difference, and how GM is pretty much assured not to cause cancer. Talking about vioxx and things is ridiculous; what does that have to do with genetic modification?
no the potatoes were enginnered with a bacteria that creates pesticide its GM cells emit a pesticide and then eaten in the form of fries lookitup.look up FDAwhistleblower he shows how the FDAruns tosenate, how the FDA changed from recalling products instantly to letting them stay out on the market.his name is david graham.the FDA doesnt regulate as well as it use to this applys to GM stuff because it takes time to know if it affects and should be studied for years before letting peopleconsume
what about cigarettes, fast food, MSG, caffine, alcohol abuse? we already know these things cause cancer, why the hell would any one pretend to start caring now?

It wasn't a conspiracy to make money by a corrupted FDA, it was a mistake, as with thalidamide, where an effective drug has unforseen side effects.
