Wow so good to see a performer who can dance rather than today's music videos which cut every 2 seconds and hide the fact that people like Britney etc can't really groove like this.
Awesome clip --- just wish the TV vision mixer had switched to a wide shot at 1:45 - where the star formation is around Sheila. Thanks for posting -- its new to me and I keep watching it just for the dancing! I tried to find out more about B.Devotion but only their names are on wiki nothing else.
salve anos 70,80´, as melhores musicas de todos os tempos, esta foi uma delas que todo mundo dançou em uma discoteca, quem viveu sabe o que estou falando......
In 1979 the whole world of entertainment were deeply influented by Star Wars. The sticks they are holding in this video must be Darth Vaders light saber :) Great song!
was working on a building site aged 17 when this came out, and I remember that a bit of funk came into everybody's step each time it came to to the loudspeaker radio, even the old Irish dudes with limps. Fantastic song and great memories.
Great song. I don't know why Chic didn't perform it themselves. It probably would have gotten more airplay. The late, great Frankie Crocker was the only DJ I could remember playing itregularly, in my NYC area, on 107.5 WBLS!
Ok ,3 albums or 3 songs ,she just had 3 hits ,spacer, singin in the rain and king of the world and that was it !!,she had a long career before that ,all in french and duets with then boyfriend Ringo,Sheila has a lots of album all french ,and yes 3 in english.
que hermosa voz y una magnifica interpretacion me hace recordar los años dorados de la musica disco en especial el año 1977 gracias.sheila y black devotion
what an awesome song. when did this song peak in the usa? i must have heard this back then but never heard who the artist was nor thought radio would prevent these songs from ever being heard again shortly after disco died.
@The096757 I would not say this song 'peaked' in the US. I remember hearing it in a club and bought an import 12 inch but pop radio NEVER played it. R&B stations might have played it twice. I think it was finally released as a domestic 12 inch but, alas, it was not even a big club hit.
This is a fantastic tune. Is Sheila Spanish by any chance? I always thought she was American but I am sure I could hear a Spanish accent in this song.
@greenisland75 wikipedia sais she is french but have singed in spanish french german and other languages before setting her career to disco music and singin in english

She doesnt look that young here, I have to say maybe ppl then were far less obsessed with age than they are now in these youth-chasing times.

@adinckgreve Actually, This version was first. The song was originally "Spacer". The group "Alcazar"
lifted the tune and rewrote lyrics calling their song "Crying at the Discoteque". Love them both.
