  • What do you recommend getting for a comfortable version of LCD2 Rev2. I had them but sold it because hated the clamp and weight. I loved the bass of the LCD2, what should i get?

  • @myparrots1 It's cool, man. No hurry. First impressions positive? No "veil" issue?

  • @Satfgk Mine are not veiled and these certainly ain't worth 2x the price of the 2

  • *silver cable

  • @schwaschwadrums HD 800 sounds very balanced but if you like your pro 900 (very strong bass) HD 800 will sound to soft. Maybe LCD-2 with copper cable?

  • I play electronic drums and im looking at the hd800. I currently own the beatspro(awful) and ultrasone pro 900(amazing). Im looking for headphones that have a very balanced feel. Good bass as well as crisp highs. do you have any suggestions? thanks

  • Do you leave your eq flat/off? and wat mp3 do u use?

  • @Zillamp3z i never use eq

  • Absolutely sick collection bro!

  • EEELLLCEEEEEDEEEE THREEEEE...!!!

  • @Satfgk I know i know, just been really busy, only had about 20mins head time with them since i got them, will do vid upcoming weekend.

  • I agree with you on fake reviewers on internet....what kind of delusional prick does one have to be to write a review on something he has no experience with...its just funny.

  • LCD-3 on its way? :)

  • @Satfgk Received mine on monday

  • @myparrots1 unboxing? ^^

    (refilling my popcorn box)

  • @myparrots1 Are you putting a reveiw on the LCD-3 up soon?

  • If you think he is crazy rich, think about it: A lot of people spend much much more on a speaker setup than the cost of all of his equipment combined. Yes, he is much more well off than a lot of people but he chooses to spend the money on more, less expensive, and better things. Awesome review btw, man! :)

  • nice review. They are so ridiculously expensive!!!

  • Comment removed

  • How much are those? Because when I search the only result says '£3,695.00' and you should definitely check out the ATH-M50 's. They are the best sounding headphones from £100 - £300

  • @SoftwareTutorial $5,200

  • @SoftwareTutorial best sounding? you heard them all? o_o

  • @Tubestiina Based on the 10 - 20 I heard in the store and LOTS of online comparisons.

  • u r one rich man.

  • Nice review, Matt, at last, hehe. :)

  • oh btw is your ipod a custom audiophile grade, because ipod's in general are crap sources for music imo

  • @simplyalif it's a normal ipod, i also have a imod and hifiman player as can be seen in my other vids and i don't hear a good enough difference to make me want to sacrifice the convenience, ease of use and 160g storage i an ipod

  • @myparrots1 then why not go for the cowon x7? it too has a good UI and 160gb storage?

  • @simplyalif I like my iPod and i am pefectly happy with and and am not looking at getting a cowon o anything else.

  • @simplyalif Do consider he is also using an Algorhythm Solo, which streams the digital file to its own D/A converter. He isn't listening to his ipod circuitry.

  • man the stax are fugly, hd800 ftw lol...... good first attempt at review

  • @simplyalif I think they are really nice

  • @simplyalif I thought the HD800's were ugly. >.> I find the Stax quite beautiful actually (minimalistic-design) , the SR-009's look similar to the SR-007's.

  • @miceblue425 I think they both look really nice :) But the HD 800 is certainly more of a "statement" with it's design.

  • Good job in doing your first review and excellent job in summing it up at the end. Most reviewers would just say go out and get these heaphones but I for one also believe that you should hear it first before you make a purchase as you might not like the sound your getting. IMHO most people would expect woofer like bass if you spend tons of money on a headphone but as you have pointed out that is not the case. Keep up the good work mate!!

  • is that jagged edge? nice music choice

  • Great review. Thanks for doing a comparative analysis of the pros and cons of each headphone. Very informative.

  • I was saying if you were doing a giveaway of something. Nothing expensive tho

  • @amiray85 Yes i have been meaning to so will put one up this week so good luck.

  • Bro are you going to some competition, I dont expect you to do it for something expensive

  • @amiray85 say again

  • Apparently HE-6 needs a sick monster amp to shine though...

  • Now you only have the Chroma MD1, K1000, R10, Qualia, HE-90, DX-1000, HE-6/500, W11R, L3000, W1000X, T1, ED10 and a few more I have forgotten to make your collection complete...

  • @OriginalMindTrick Doubt i will get anymore Hifiman Cans as i had the HE-5LE and did not find those comfortable at all, i have the T1, tried the ED10 and not bad but certainly not worth the price tag, the HE-90 i am defo interested in if one comes up at the right price.

  • @myparrots1

The Orpheus system is like 30k to 40k by now so If you feel it's worth it go for it. The HE-90 alone is maybe double that of 009. I agree on he ED10. For the price I was VERY underwelmed when I heard it. What amp are you driving the 009 with?

  • @OriginalMindTrick An Orpheous system sold recently for a little under 19k and there was one on ebay like new a couple months ago for 21k.

  • @myparrots1 I have the newer HD 800 aswell, strange...

  • People saying this is expensive, I absolutly agree. But if you compare Headfi to Speaker-fi, $5200 is pocketchange. I really don't know how those guys keep up their hobby if they aren't multi millionairs. We say with headphones say: ''I want (insert sound signature), my budget is ($500 to $10.000), but can stretch it a bit further if its worth it. At speaker they say the exact same, only they talk about cables for that price. Its a good excuse for buying $5200 headphones :D WOOOO

  • i dont even know what to say about headphones this pricey lol, they look nice! Are you planning on unboxing some lower end good sounding over ear headphones or review...not saying these are bad but they are soo much money!!! lol

  • Damn I know I have spend too much money on my tube dac-tube amp-LCD-2 rig but this is just crazy what you are doing :) Not to be rude, but how does a young fellow like yourself afford all this gear?

  • @OriginalMindTrick i'm 31 and have a half decent job and also have an income from a buisness.

  • @myparrots1 woops, just realised i'm actually 32 now, getting bloody old.

  • @OriginalMindTrick If you heard the Stax -009 you would know its worth every cent.

  • @mrmadicbm

I wouldnt even go so far to say my own rig where worth that much. I doubt that a headphonesystem for 10k thats probably not much better or worse with the music I listen to would be worth that much money. I haven't listened to a 009 setup yet though.

  • You're a hell of a reviewer! Keep them coming, mate!

  • JH3A review? Please?

  • @youarehere0 Already recorded and will go up soon.

  • @myparrots1 cool. can't wait!

  • Great job! Missed Lucky in this video, but it's understandable. :P

  • @i2ehan He was actually walking around on the floor at the time and climbing the tripod lol will defo look in to those IEM's you messaged me about.

  • @myparrots1 whats the song's name playing in the background..?

  • @TheArcade12 Perfect Gentleman by Wyclef Jean

  • Awesome. Is the LCD-3 worth it to you? I will try going to a hifi show soon to try them out. I found the LCD-2 could use some improvements. Wonderful headphone but the soundstage was a bit congested and lacked focus. I also found a slight lack of air. (rev 2s)

  • @Satfgk only ordered the LCD-3 today so will hopefully have them in a week or two and will do a comparison then.

  • @Satfgk I think it may be because of the poor soundstage that I don't get the "be there" sense with the LCD-2s. Vocals are very clean and liquid but they are too in-your-face, mixed up in the imaging. It doesn't convince you... You agree?

I must say though, (no hard feelings at all) that I don't know how you find the HD 800 to have better bass extension. The LCD-2 remains flat down very low (I think to between 5-10 hz) and the HD 800 rolls off quite a bit sooner.

  • @Satfgk i have the newer version of the HD800 and these are supposed to have been tweeked a little on the low end and i find the bass on then to go deeper then the LCD although the LCD does have more impact, this is what i hear with the pairs i have here.

  • @ashneel99 have not and will not be ordeing those.

  • Good review and effort. Don't worry too much as if you look around at some of the professional reviewers early videos they are awful. You can and will get better at this with time.

BTW I did have a little difficultly hearing you over the music but other than that keep views and reviews coming via YouTube. Cheers

  • @shafnet yep did not realise how loud they actually was until i watched the video, i will be sure not to have the music playing on any future vids, i done this one straight after compairing them and never turned it off.

  • Thankx for uploading this. I've been waiting for it. I loved the way you described the vocals of the SR-009. Looking forward to your LCD 3 review as well and whether you think they are worth the price increase over the lcd 2

  • Finally, been trying to upload this over a week and this took 11hrs to upload lol LCD-3 arriving within next week or two.

  • @myparrots1 you should re-encode your files so that they are smaller. Use something like handbrake with a youtube profile
