Reflowing is only a temporary fix. Once you have the yellow light malfunction it's only a matter of time before you get it again and again. You can keep throwing money at the problem or reflowing it yourself, but eventually your console will die. It's best to buy a new one.

This just happened to me and if your disc is still in the tray don't worry! Have it turned on at the back and hold eject, now still hold eject and switch the ps3 off at the back and turn it back on again and the fans will kick in and sound like they're having an episode but it's normal and the disc will eject after a few seconds

@aintnunbutapenut Good luck...If it doesn't work then get a IDE to USB adapter. It should cost about $15. Then hook the old hard drive up to your computer and DL everything. You can then do a data transfer to your new PS3.

I melted my vents with the hairdryer method now the vents r sealed up so no air is getting out them bzzzzzzzz ps3 went up in flames it was epic. Good job I had cookies and milk I just pored the milk on it. Then the room stank. I used 2 hairdryers full heat to speed it up. Bad idea.

You could try to fix it yourself. The same thing happen to me today. I check several websites and they say let it rest for a bit. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna take it apart and try it form there. Not paying 150 for a fix, better off buying a new one. I fixed my DS. . .kinda. . .snap off the sound switch but other then that, works fine. Also fixed my PSP. Those 2 fixes cost me only 30 bucks each. Just make sure you know what your doing. Don't wanna break it more lol.

This exact thing happened to me last week. My 60 gig froze loading up GT5. GT5 along with my PS3 was sent to get fixed, LMAO. 60 Gig PS3's don't have the release option if your disc get stuck. Gopher Mods charged me 80 bucks to fix it.

@ctbravo i don't think it has to do with mw2, but i know it has to do with either the graphics chip or the other one.. i don't know the name. But what you have to do is send it in to sony, but thats a good thing because they will clean,update, and fix your ps3. but one thing i am doing is take out your hard-drive so they don't delete the info on it. i hope my vid helps.. =)
