@CSSSharks ebay, most of them don't call themselves "Fake Beats by Dre" they're usually called "HOT IN-EAR FASHION EARPHONES" etc. Hard to search by name so what I do is I go to the headphone section and set the price range to 12-14 (which is how much the fake ones usually cost) and I search one buy one by one..takes a while but you do end up finding a few copies out there.

Torrents have much higher quality recordings than what can be found in stores or off itunes/amazon/rhapsody if you know where to look. 24/96 FLAC is unnecessary, but it's there. Bitrate means jack shit with a shitty mastering engineer behind the console.

Beats are incredibly bad. Really bad. Maybe worth a third of the price at retail.

If the music sounds like crap on beats it might be good elsewhere.

Go get better earphones for less than the fakes.

why even worry about real vs fake? you get get numerous other headphones for $50-100 less that sound much better. audio-technica ath-m50 for $150, sony studio pro mdv-v6 for $85, sennheiser HD25-1 II for $199. all of these have a more natural, flat (that's a good thing) and better overall sound than anything by Beats.
