@omarrckzs77 When an engine is brand new, the engine components, haven't fitted to each other completely. The break-in process is a special way of getting all the engine components seated properly so that the engine will run longer, and better in the future.

What to do if you break in a nitro engine bad

dude the break in is the exact same as a motor bike or car from single cylinder to 2, 4, 6 ,8, v or inline 2stroke, 4 stroke, rotor, or nitro all motors are the exact same no ifs no buts

and BTW the heat you say is not good when running in a new motor of any kind

heat = bad

you want the body off when running in the nitro

Also I'm confused. You said after Tank 6 to leave it to cool and that it should be around the 120° mark. But you also said to never let the engine drop below 200° during the WHOLE break-in process. So do I keep it above 200°? Or should it actually go down near 120°?

@SUPERFORMIAN When the engine is running don't let it get below 200, but as I list in the break in at certain points in the break in you need to shut the engine off let it cool to 120f then keep on going with the break'in.

his may sound simple but how do you make sure the piston is BDC? just lok down the nitro cooling head?

@zemixis You can look down the head but basically you need to just find the center point between the two compression stages. Which means when you turn the flywheel either way youll hit the hard spot on the engine. Just center it between those two spots.

nitro mad i have a traxxas slayer with a 3.3 and i was just driving and it stopped and then i would hit the gas and it wouldnt move but it would rev high like it was moving. and i hit the break and gas and it like gliches ( the thing that moves the rod which opens the gas and the one that stoppes it and i put new battries in and all but it wont work. plz help.

@Djtubie You just have to turn up your idle, whats happening is your brakes are closing the carb to far thus causing it to stall.

@Djtubie it's the middle speed needle. screw it in (screw right) cause inside you will see [--] but you actualy want to screw the screw in so it looks like |--|| so it dont close all the way. the motor aint getting any air.

i just got a o.s. .21tm and the front bearing came with a massive leak. ran it on first tank for 30 secs. and shut it off. you have any problems with the stock front bearing on that .18?
