  • I just got one I saw it & had 2 get it

  • Nice pistol! I really want a ar pistol or rifle in 9mm.

  • What sling do you use?

  • Comment removed

  • Shouldn't these be considered submachine guns? They have the same length and size, fire the same caliber ammunition... I don't see the difference other than it being a modified AR.

Also, it would be really cool to have one of these in 10mm Auto

  • @controlusplease1 The difference is that this don't shoot 800 or more rounds a minute.

  • @controlusplease1 sub-machine guns are select fire, and shoot pistol calibers. That is what defines a sub-machine gun.

  • couple of recent developments for pistol lovers.... caa cheek pieces are OK (decision in 2011) to attach to the buffer tube as long as you dont include the stock. also if your pistol is over 26" than it is a "firearm" not a "pistol" or a "rifle" you can attach a vertical fore grip as long as it is not concealed . Just remember when building always start with a stripped lower that has never had the word rifle used in any paperwork.

  • that is a weird stock

  • @nalacktack112 Its not a stock, an AR15 pistol cant have a stock and still be a pistol

  • sweet pistol, been interested in one of these ever since I saw Willem Dafoe's character use one at the end of Clear and Present danger and thought wtf is that?? Apparently his was an Olympic Arms OA-93 pistol in 5.56 x 45mm (THE only AR-15 pistol sold with select fire, or so they say.) That gun in that caliber would be a bitch on full-auto. Where did you get the front grip/forearm?

  • @clutchcrazy888 That forearm is from Olympic Arms, too! Be safe! John

  • @clutchcrazy888 you can turn any nfa select fire lower into a pistol. machineguns do not take any extra stamps to sbr or otherwise shorten.

  • @air2142 For once somebody knows what they are talking about. MG>SBR or anything else. If its a machine gun you can do whatever you want (minus suppressor)

  • What is the benefit of this as a SD gun as opposed to a 1911?

  • I wanted the Mini Draco AK, until I seen this video. How many brands of these are there..??

  • I completely agree wouldn't even consider it without the buffer tube balances it adds control helps aiming and it just feels right and i want my guns to feel right

  • I live in Texas and I was going to build an AR lower to put a 9mm upper on it, but this AR pistol looks pretty BA. BUT, do you have to register the lower as a pistol lower in order to have the short barrel on it and do I have to pay the ATF to have that short barrel?

  • @blackdew80 It has to be a virgin lower, and I think it's marked as "other" on the 4473. You do not have to pay the fees to the ATF if you build it without a stock, but you need to verify all of that for yourself. Be safe! John

  • I have an AR-15, great for home defense for the upcoming liberal assualt on average Americans.

  • Who is the company that makes and sells that buffer tube on that ar pistol? Thanks

  • looks like a 7in barrel.

  • They need to make a sbr set up for the fn 57

  • so... if you have a concealed handgun liscense.......

  • Thats a DPMS Kitty Kat, 7.5'' barrel.

  • I like it..but, i do not like the carry handle on it..i plan on building an AR pistol but want a flat top upper.

  • of course now let me just holster that "pistol" ... failure

  • A sub 2000 is a great alternative

  • im pretty sure thats a 7inch sir not a 10 inch lol

  • @MrDickonurface i get that alot.... lol

  • @MrDickonurface lmao i loled when i saw ur comment n ur name..

  • now i'd love to see this on a bump fire stock!!

  • @SKUMMASBAGGUS fucking right!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool gun, but the mpa defender with 10" barrel is more accurate, more compact, and more relieable; and still hold 30+rounds. have you tried a kel tec plr16????

    have a great day

  • @phishintube haha not even close. mpa is junk.

  • @phishintube really? both MPA and kel tec are pure garbage, gansta toting crap.

  • What sling system did you guys use?

  • You didn't build a pistol. You modified a rifle.

To actually biuld something, model it fresh new.

  • @WeWantGoodCovers . You also "build" a model airplane which doesn't have to modeled "fresh new". Why quibble about word use in this case? We know perfectly well what he meant! Sheesh people nowadays!!

  • @CombatRZero Yes, to build a plane, you have to model it fresh new, new parts etc.. AND you HAVE to MAKE, each little part, melt the metal down, shape it the way you want, THATS creating. He just modified and existing AR15 model, trimmed some parts here others there, thats not creating

  • Can those go full auto???

  • @jnuty85 Not if they are legal. Automatics are illegal to own here in the United States if they are made after 1986.

  • never fails to make me lol at how Americans always talk about home defense. What are you guys so scared of? I live in a country where people dont get shot very often at all, mostly because (i think) we arent as scared and automatic rifles arent sold here. Think about it, you guys could live with your minds at ease if you all chilled out and got rid of your auto rifles. Let me be clear, guns arent a bad thing. Many people in my area own .308 bolt actions for pig hunting, i go with them often.

  • @LemoneyFishmas thats not a troll either. Im genuinely interested in why you all do it.

  • @LemoneyFishmas you are one of the many people who really don't get it, criminals don't follow the law, lets take AU where acording to your channel you live, a criminals could get aa semi auto weapon and kill someone look at the uk criminals with aj 47s nd uzis criminals are the people who you don't want to have the guns but gun control doesnt stop them, look at cuba gun ban yet high gun murder rate llok at the uk and canada thier gun mrder rate rose as did home invasions, you think a bolt

  • @LemoneyFishmas action can beet an uzi? but a semi auto has a better chance, pump shotguns a legitimate self defence tool is banned in AU, just becuase tec moves on you rights should too, i believe the machinegun ban should be repealed, why? becuase criminals still get and use machines guns illegally, look at the usa the places with the mose gun control have the highest crime its a fact, i'd rather have 10 home breaks ins in my life and have tools to defend myself than once and not, but in the

  • @LemoneyFishmas the right to bear owns is human right and ANY control is really a violation of it, as the main use for these is to tell a man like hitler if someone like that ever comes to power that we don't want you and have a relovution good look fighting an army with weapons of ww1

  • you know that you cant shoot anybody even if they enter your house

you will get in worst problems than the trespasser

  • @carlos92azevedo yup criminals have more rights then law abiding citizens now these days

  • What makes a pistol a pistol? I don't get why its called an AR pistol.

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 that last part is false. the receivers are no different from normal ar15 receivers

  • Bushmaster sells them. Other than added weight, why not put a collapsable stock on the buffer tube? Would it then technically be a rifle and then illegal?

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 he says that in the video

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 you can you just need to register it as an SBR pay the $200 tx and go through an FBI back ground check

  • How do i go about learning how to build a Ar15 style pistol..were do i find links and info on how to do so?

  • why don't make BMG pistol?

    imbeciles

  • Is this gun had been used by the military and police units somewhere in the world?

  • why buy a mini ar in a handgun caliber? i don't the trade off is worth it or even sensible.

  • so its legal to build a ar15 pistol? but not a rifle less than 16 inchs without a legal tax stamp?

  • @RogueCivilian correct. our libtarded government doesnt make sense. but for some reason we continue to put up with it. -_-'

  • That's a pretty crazy scope.

  • looks more like a mini carbine?

  • they should chamber the pistol with .45 ACP and it would be much better

  • @reav2 look up the ar 45

  • How the fuck is that a "pistol"?

  • @Oallright no stock.

  • O, i like it, how much is the weapon?

  • Federaly Regulating SBRs is retarded...

  • @TheSteve4200 so is regulating suppressors...if anything they should encourage them!

  • @TheSteve4200 Vote Ron Paul to get rid of government regulations. He was asked about the second amendment and he said "automatic weapon or not is irrelevant" he might try to lift all gun bans including full auto. He also wants to get rid of the income tax so the people can have all the money they work for. I'm not trying to push him on people but check him out if you like your rights. Any American should look him up,

  • @GOD719...... LOL!!!!!!!! Check him out?? Im a Die Hard supporter! :) Check out who hes appointing to his cabinet. Dr.Pauls first pick for Secretary of State is Micheal Scheuer..-Do u know who he is. + Peter Schiff as Treasury Secretary. That's like a Dream team.

    Its simple Math..

    Ron Paul

    +

    Peter Schiff

    +

    Michael Scheuer

    =

A Guaranteed Better tomorrow for America..

  • @TheSteve4200 Damn straight. He wants to bring America back to what our founding fathers wanted America to be. He is the only president candidate I'm excited to vote for. People from other countries want us to vote for him. I prey to God that he gets elected. And thanks sootch00 for letting us talk of topic of the video here

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 The AR pistol is made from an AR platform, and I never said the magazine goes through the grip, I said the magazine IS the grip.

The platform itself is slightly modified so the trigger is in front of the magazine.

Once again, if you really doubt me that much I can e-mail you the picture.

Also, what exactly makes these so called AR pistols a pistol anyway?

    Size?

    Weight?

    The bullet they use?

Looks like a normal AR to me, but with a smaller barrel and stock.

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 absolutely none, I have a picture of an actual AR pistol if you want it. :\

  • that's no AR pistol

the AR pistol uses the magazine as the grip, and it has no barrel at all, just the flash hider.

    if anything that's an smg.

  • can you use a Mako Magazine Well Grip on a pistol or is a foregrip=aow

  • Does the red night beam interfere with your target acquisition while using the red dot scope?

  • @radicaledward40 It does not cause any problems. It's the light refracting off of the smoke from the lead round nose reloads that I am using up for plinking & testing. When the LRN's are gone, I will only load FMJ's or copper washed bullets. I prefer to stay away from lead exposure, from now on. And the copper washed rounds are pretty affordable these days. Be safe! John

  • What lower receiver is that?

  • Got sniper rifles or machine gun reviews?

  • My bad, I meant 4:28

  • Was that a car driving in the background at 2:28?

  • @CarlPetaflop More like 3:11, but not so much at 2:28.... John

  • very informative, thank you!

  • they need to make a piston driven ar15 pistol. then I will buy one, the stupid buffer tube is a bad thing to have sticking out.

  • @67mustangreg There are some piston driven versions available now, but they still require a buffer tube. John

  • lol!!!! Patriot gun!!!!!(From Metal gear solid)

  • Long live the Republic... another fan of the Roman empire. Love it.

  • my first time seeing this

  • no way thats a 10 inch barrel

  • @MultiSr16 It's 7 inch. John

  • @TheOtherEddie yea thats what i was thinkin .u said 10 in the vid.., nice blaster though

  • im not an expert on guns but really getting into them, why dont you just get a 9mm glock and if need be throw a 30 round mag in it if you need to, (i think theyre 30 maybe 20, either way same idea)

  • @drewsterm7 there are 32 round mags for glocks but i think what he likes is the weight and the size of the ar pistol as well as the fact that if he wanted to he could change it back into a 223

  • conceal carry it!

  • AT 2:10 he says it is a 10inch, it looks like a 7.

  • @C172Pilotdude I had talked about doing a 10" at first, but did the 7", instead. John

  • @TheOtherEddie I want the 10. Do they make a longer buffer for these ? I assume no because then you could use it as a stock.

  • @C172Pilotdude There may be longer tubes available, but I didn't want one. I liked the look of the Rock River, so that's what I bought. They are too much fun. Be safe! John

  • put the damn stock on it, it looks weird

  • @guitarshreder91 You dont really grasp the concept of this gun, do you...

  • Yea I had a RRA pistol.. I had it for a long time then I got tired of it.. I wanted a long rifle.. But now I would like to have another one.. Chamber in 9mm of coarse.

  • Sub'd I like your channel.

  • I was thinking of getting rid of mine until I saw your video... ...Great work, don't stop!

  • Are there any ways that I can build a pistol like this from any rifle receiver, or any receiver for that matter? I have a receiver, but it was never barreled, and I believe (that's the magic word) it was buoght as a rifle by the previous owner. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks in advance.

  • dont wanna rob this guy....

  • he talks as if he is gonna go out and kill people. talking about power....

  • I personally own a bushmaster carbon 15 pistol and I love the gun but it is hard for me to build it cuz I can't seem to find a good websites to get part from what site would you recommend?

  • @12ghozt26 I use AR15.com forums to read what others are doing & to ask questions. There are other informational websites on the web, but that's the one I use. John

  • Thats one cool pistol!!

  • ugly lil gun in my opinion

  • @jonez8686 The older I get, function tends to out weigh form, more & more. John

  • is it possible to upgrade the barrel to shot full metal jackets? just curious about the range on that thing enjoyed ur video post

  • @shopperman2007 There is no "upgrade" required for FMJ's. It will shoot them just fine. I'm sure you could readily engage full size targets out to 100 yards with a high percentage of hits, but I will try to verify that, next time I have it out. Be safe! John

  • Oh, got it, the KELTEC PLR 16 223, is just what I'm after, thanks anyway and great Vid!

  • Is there an AR pistol version like the S&W, M&P 15-22 that shoots 5.56/223 without the buffer bar in the back?

  • The 5.56 has that violent blast, like he says in the video...the 9mm is a much weaker load, BUT with a barrel like that the 9mm bullet is probably running at .357 mag ballistics. That'll ruin your day, all right.

  • i served as a conscript back in 03-06, and i was trained primarily with an AR15. and i gotta ask, wouldn't it burn the heck outta your supporting hand when you hold that metallic area infront of the mag???

  • @cerrutiboy 9mm does not get as hot as 5.56, and I have never felt the 5.56 rifles get that hot, but you have probably fired a lot more rounds at one time, than I have. Be safe! John

  • @TheOtherEddie

Oh man, my dad owns an AR15 and the barrel gets soooo hot. Like, too hot to touch.

  • You said that the barrel length was 10'' on that pistol but it looked more like the 7.5" barrel am i right or wrong just wondering.

  • @TheWildtiger87 It's a 7" barrel.

  • I think I would make a holster for it... Concealed carry...lol... I want an AR pistol to keep under my bed.

  • very cool gun. keep up the good work. what kind of magazines does it take???

  • @extremedealer It takes Sten Mags. They are very cheap and avaliable. Thanks!

  • @sootch00 Very good to hear that. Availability is crucial.

  • @sootch00 I like the compactness of that AR pistol..very cool. Do you know the overall length and if an upper chambered in Fn 5.7x28mm will work on this lower. I'd use the 5.7 for indoors then probly switch out to .223 when i'm using as my car gun

  • @sootch00 It's more like a submachine gun to me. (Though SMGs are also called machine pistols, based on what I've read). :-)

  • is the AR pistol legal to own in NYC or in NY state?

  • Hey Sootch, what kind of mount for the optic and flashlight is being used for this video. I am wanting to build a 9mm AR pistol after seeing this video and I want to copy the setup you have. Give me some of the build details please. Thanks

  • @Starstreak817 The carry handle mount on that pistol was made by a company called Quik-2-See, who is now out of business. I have a cantilever mount for the red dot, but I had to turn it around to keep the red dot tube from hitting the front sight assembly. There are several companies who currently make a "gooseneck" mount similar to the one I have, and any of those shoud work. If you go with a flat top rec'r, it will be even more simple. Good luck with you build. John

  • @Starstreak817 Also, the Quik-2-See mount has quick attachment points built into it, which is where my light is mounted in the vids. I like it there because I can access the tail switch with my offhand thumb very easily. Later! John

  • Hey, thanks for the response... i really wasn't into the AR for the simple fact, (to me at least) it seems like a "diva" gun all the lubing and cleaning, not that i don't clean my guns after every use, But (and you may laugh) in a "Mad Max" world where are you going to get the lube and cleaning stuff to maintain the gun. That's why i like the AK. But when i saw this "AR pistol" I fell in love, of course i have to get it in .223. I'm really thinking of getting it... we'll see, hey thx 4 all U do.

  • @MakeYaBootyBurn I hear ya on the mad max world... I have a gas piston m4 and am putting a buffer in it that provents all carrier tilt... It is my madmax gun... Its kinda of like a mix with AR and AK... I respect the AK but I dont really like them... But like I said I respect them... Same ammo to heavy and I think it looks ugly...LOL I know I know...LOL Either way both are good.

  • I wanted to ask, does the "tube" (where you rest your face) does that or can it extend to your shoulder? for more support? or can it be replaced with one that does?

  • @MakeYaBootyBurn You can put a padded sleeve on the tube but extending it out would make it a Short barrel rifle and restricted under the NFA, kind of like a sawed off shotgun. They are illegal without a $200 tax stamp and FBI background check.

  • @sootch00

i live in california and iv seen those sold at gun stores all over around hear and iv never heard you need an extra backround check to make it into a pistol. and california is the hitler of gun legislation

  • @sootch00 Sir i want to know how old you have to be to buy this gun...Legal age?..

  • @sootch00 you should take a small combat stalk and put it on there. if its illegal try to find out how you could it would be SWEET! please!

  • If only the AR15 pistols are chambered in .458 SOCOM..........

  • where do you get the red light?

  • @FishingVo It is standard light, but I added a Butler Creek flip up scope cap that is supplied with a yellow lens, but I change it out to a red gel. You can use the red lenses

from the old crook neck milspec flashlights, too. Good Luck! John

  • it would be awsome if it was chambered in .223

  • @goodnightChesty1775 I intend to buy a .223/5.56 pistol upper, some day. That's another

nice thing about the Olympic Arms style AR pistols. The lowers for them are standard for

the .223/5.56's, with the only exception being the mag blocks, which are easily removed,

    when needed. Good Luck! John

  • @goodnightChesty1775 the first one ar pistol was in .223

  • another great vid. I bet its cheap to run and gun! That compM2 looks massive on that cute little gun lol. God bless sootch.

  • is there ar15 pistol with 45.cal?

  • @gonzalezsickone Olympic Arms, and others make uppers chambered for .45 ACP. Good Luck! John

  • Fun toy, but I am sceptical. The length of the tube makes the weapon as long on the back end as my M4. I just cannot find a situation in which a few inches of barel length is worth the range and accuracy... anyone who has cleared rooms with an M4 will likely agree that it is already short enough for the task... But I guess this one can fit under your pillow!

  • good video

  • Good discussion starting around 2:00 btw. Explains the quirky advantages of the AR pistol form under current law. It's a non-NFA firearm (i.e., doesn't require specialized federal registration) with a short barrel, and the buffer tube behind the pistol receiver provides at least a partial point of contact with the cheek that goes beyond most handguns.

The buffer tube's inherent to the AR action. You won't have that on, e.g., an AK-47 pistol build, so it's not as usable as the AR pistol.

  • @classof77 I built it for the fun factor & because I could, but after shooting it for a while, the other adavntages are becoming more apparent. Be safe! John

  • what graphics program did u use to make the gray scale vid outline while he is firing (it looks like a drawing)?

  • Nice job with the video Would like to see the target get chawed up or some dirt flying on video too. That would fit in the door pocket of my truck perfectly

  • Yep that pistol AR was what i was dreaming about he he he

  • that would be great for clearing rooms in a terrorist situ!

  • Heh. You dudes were burnin' some ammo in this video!

    Can almost smell the powder.

  • You can really see the reduced muzzle blast and "flash" at 4:25... lower flash than a .223... yet another advantage.

  • thats so freakin kl hahaha

  • Who needs a reason to own or build one, I think when you say 223 pistol to anyone they should recognize a loophole and get one while they can! FYI, mines a great camping buddy.

  • it's the Patriot!

  • what are the advantages of this vs h & k mp5

  • @1965lo There are many pro's & cons. The AR is less cost in the firearm, and the mags. The H&K MP-5 is a world class firearm, second to few, but much higher in cost and it is very hard to find, since it was banned from import, several years ago. The AR platform for a pistol is relatively new to the civilian market, but I believe it's popularity will grow rapidly, in the next few years. The AR already has an incredible parts following. You can build one in many different configurations. John

  • awesome!

  • is this video fcked? i cant see sht

  • I can't see carrying this in any way concealed , maybe in the trunk. As for home defense my 12 ga. or my Glock. You can buy a Glock and a Rem 870 for the price of this thing.

  • Blaming guns for killing people is like blaming spoons for fat people.
