BUY AT OWN RISK! Do NOT buy from bananahobby, they lie, deliver late, sell broken planes with missing pieces and are impossible to contact when you have a problem.
i bought this plane and 2 months later they contacted me and said that they didn't have the colour i wanted. then about 3 months after i had payed for it, a broken plane arrived in the mail with missing parts.
magnets were missing and some of the pre-mounted tail wings were broken. BUY AT OWN RISK! look elsewhere
I am torn between this one and the 50mm version. This will be the first edf jet for me. I am leaning towards this one...do u think that would be the best choice
why do you guys attach ridiculously high 'regular price' amounts to your planes. It's not like we don't shop around and KNOW what comparitive values are for various plane classes. Just seems to be an insult to intelligence and has turned me off.
Are there alternate color schemes available? And are the wings rare-earth magnetized also? Or glued? I may be getting some wing-first landings initially (switching from electric intermediate glider to something more difficult). Also it seems like the throw might be really sensitive on those ailerons (ie. tougher to control), any countermeasures you might suggest?
There are 3 colors. This one, a Grey version and a new version going on the site shortly. It is the General Dynamics version. The wings are glued on. The hand launch is very easy. Throttle to 80% and just give her a nice level toss.
You can slow it down pretty good as you can see in the video. Of course everything has a stall speed where it will tip stall. This F-16 is really forgiving on it's slow flight. Very stable and predictable. Thanks!
yo nice jet, any suggestions for starter?, i need something expensive and super super fast with a turbine engine, dont matter the cost, the higher the price the better, awesome if you set me up thanks
I have not launched this F-16 at full throttle. I found no need to at all. About 50% power is all it needs for a hand launch. Give her a nice and level toss at about 50% power and get that finger back on the elevator stick with a bit of up elevator and as she leaves, you can goose her to full and ENJOY!!
in terms of performance what differences are there between this model and something that has a rudder? i know that you mention that it is only a 3 channel plane is this because of the lack of rudder? also what is a rough estimate of the shipping costs to Australia? And finally what is your personal number 1 choice for park flyers?
hrde2, Thanks for the comment! Performance between an aircraft with a rudder and one without can basically go un noticed. You do no need a rudder to fly an airplane. On a 4 channel or one with ailerons, you're basically banking and applying elevator to bring the plane around. With a rudder, you can do more precise point and clean aerobatics is all. I can do many of the same with this plane with out a rudder. This will go perfect under the park flier catergory.
pete, you think is posible to put in there a landing gear, or it will going to put down his performance ?... because the landing on grass fields is going to brake the botom of it! or not?... thanks.
I think a small gear set can be retro fitted to work on this F-16. If you keep it small and light, it would be fine. The speed is well more than enough to compensate for a gear set. So far, all my belly grass landings are just fine on the bottom. Keep it flared nice and she just plops right down softly!
thanks for you quick answer pete, you said that you have the lowest prices but i see the same product for $189 (usd)ARTF (need tx and rx)!...you have this ARTF in $204.90 usd! can you beat this price?... let me know it!! thanks.
Unfortunately, I do not control the retail pricing here. So far, we are not doing any price matching. Sorry about that. Pricing is above me right now.
wow. Tough choice! I would pick the F-16. Then again I am partial to the F-16 because I like the looks better and performance wise, they are very similar.
Hey pete, thats a fast lil bird, this was the first time i was like "that camera man is mighty shakey" but he managed to capture its speed, looks like it flys at 85+mph!
I want to get someone who's never flown R/Cs this intense before. Are the controls easily learnable?

who you recomend this for begginers? if not what planes would you recomend for begginers?
GreenDayCobain33 3 years ago
I just recommend a plane in the 3 channel area. It is an easier learning experience.

hey pete, back again for one last question.
with this particular model have you taken it up to full throttle for the hand launch??
any hand launch tips for this particular model?
thanks again

Pete, beautiful plane!! very fast!!need mixing functions on the transmitter? or just with 4ch tx and 6ch rx is ok?.... thanks!!..
mgeniusly 3 years ago
Thanks for the comment! No mixing needed on the radio! It is straight 4 channel. The ailerons and elevators are on a Y splitter.
