did yours come with the cooling fins? it doesnt look like you installed them...i guess i need some kind of adhesive or something...but i think overheating triggers a shutoff mechanism so the motor doesnt burn out, hence the reason for the fins i supposed...kit works great though so far.
Battery is 48v 20Ah manufactured by 'Ping' (see ebay). Range is around 35 miles with moderate pedal assist, less if you ride too fast or dont pedal.
Would work well with 12 series LiPo batteries if doing it again.

I added the cooling fins later (when they became available), using thermal paste and zip-ties to hold them in place. They do help a lot.

u do have a lot more torque than a hub motor how long does your chain gears last?
what range do u get i dont see very many batterys ?

Thanks for your comments, Max speed is about 35mph (56kph) on the flat in good conditions.
