  • @NortonGreg1830 go to a gun show. but look for the mossberg 500a it can carry more rounds and cost less. check out my videos to see the 500a 9 shot

  • You might like my Mossberg videos. It's the mossberg 500a 8+1.

  • @NortonGreg1830

    gunbroker com

    search for mossberg 590a1 spx

  • I seem to have missed the rapid part. I think I blinked.

  • @malone23kid you want to see a real shot gun rappid shot then check out my video's of the mossberg 500a 9 shot took 4 seconds to unload

  • I'm not really understanding what your trying to say or ask when you refer to "Shocks"

  • @losteden haha do you mean chokes?

  • That's a nice weapon! If I didn't already have a shotgun I would be very interested in that one. But now that I think about it... What's wrong with having more than one shotgun? I have four pistols and two rifles...?????

  • Ain't nothing wrong with owning more than 1. I own 2 shotguns, 4 pistols, and 2 rifles. A little variety is nice. I won't even get into how many weapons my father has....

  • hey lobzdik are u talking about birdshot or buckshot

  • how much to the pellets (shot) spread?

or say how big is the spread at 20-30 feet?

  • big enough to hit whatever your aiming at. Short 18" barrel with #8 shot and the target 20-30 feet away, you could be blind and still hit your target as long as you point it in the general direction.

Seriously though, at 20-30 feet it spreads out to a pretty large pattern with the 18" barrel. I'd say roughly a 2.5ft x 2.5ft pattern, but it all really depends on the type of ammo, the Shotgun, and the choke tube if it has one. This Mossberg 590 doesn't have a choked barrel.

  • kool thanks...

was just wondering if i were to use a shotgun for home defence...

so for like 0 buck shot, itd spread in a 2.5ft circle right?

the reason im wonderin is just to get an idea if possible colateral damage...

  • Now "0 buck"...that is a whole different animal. That you might wanna take to a range or somewhere you can test it out to be sure. The size of the shot plays a big part in how large the spread is. Also "O buck" packs a hell of a lot more punch than #8 birdshot.

"O Buck" will tear a lot of shit up including dry wall and keep on going, some say it's a bit overkill for home defence. I load mine with 1 #8, 2 O Buck, and 2 slugs for home defence. If the first few don't stop'em the last 2 will.

  • "If the first few don't stop'em the last 2 will."

hahaha, no shit man. I don't want to run into the monster that two slugs cant put down.

  • @lobzdik I have a lot of guns and have the Mossberg 500a. The way to pictk the right ammo is to first think of where you live. If you live out in the country and live alone OO buck is good. but if you have other people or neighbors close to you then #2 shot or higher is what you need. See that doesn't go through walls as easy like buck. You will go through the walls if you miss your target but you won't kill your family on the other side of the wall. that makes shot guns best 4 home defence

  • I do not mean to criticize but you unload 9 rounds in about 7 seconds. That is not terribly fast when you consider that you are shooting at the same target and at such a short range. Transitioning from target to target is a bit more challenging. The trick to it is to complete the pump cycle during the transition so you can fire as soon as the new target is acquired and move on. Of course the real trick to tactical shotgun lies not in how quickly you can fire, but in how fast you can load.

  • Well I never said I was that good, but 9 rounds in 7 seconds is faster than a round a second at least. Plus it was the first time I had ever tried that drill.

  • Cool video.

mind if i ask what state your from?

    really pretty country side.

  • I'm from Virginia. I live in Fredericksburg Va. but the video was filmed in Paige County Luray Va. on some land my family owns. It's a good ways up into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

  • No kiddin. Im from fredericksburg. Im up on Levells like 10 mins from Central Park.

  • Damn, small world after all. I'm pretty much downtown by the college.

  • Indeed it is.

So how is the 590? Ive been eyeing one for awhile now. The only pump shotgun i have is a remington 870

  • Well the 590 is dad's but I've shot it quite a few times and I love it, Very similar to my 500A except his 590 is a lot more military or police looking as it is intended to be. The 9 shot mag is nice. The 500 and 590 are built on the same reciever and a lot of parts are interchangeable. Great gun over all.

  • Must be a lot of civil war relics around there, I'd bet. Nice video.

  • Probably are a lot of relics around there, need to borrow a medal detector next time we go up.

  • glad its ur shoulder and not mine! hhahaha crazy

  • i can shoot 5 00 buck in 3 seconds...
