A lot of the old police cars don't have the molding on one or both doors because of decals that were on the car. I own a 2001 CVPI and I got lucky for one in good condition. The problem with getting these cars used is that they have usually been driven hard... really hard. Even if there are only 80,000 miles on the odometer, think of how many hours are actually on the engines if they were in the police service. Also, when they are stripped down, not much care is taken for the car's condition

@vicp71 fuck dont pay any more then $2000 for one unless its MINT and low mileage, here in canada we get the old rcmp ones sat usually around the 230,000 km range for $1000 and a real good example usually 1800-2000 tops. Some cars with like 130,000 on them go for 22-2300.

put them steelies back on man. or get some bigger chrome rims i think those are kinda ugly. and try to find the solid red tailights instead of the ones with the blinker in em. and if you can find someone to do it delete your rear cat converter. sounds so much better and opens up some power.

also out of curiosity when you aquired your p71 did you have to rewire the reverse lights. on my 2001 p71 the police dept messed it up to the point it didnt work?

Because if they were LED police lights you would need a permit to have that mounted on your car. its against the law to have tactical equipped lights without a permit.

not to sound like a know it all,but this would sound so much better with tail pipes.i ran my 77 ltd 351w super turbo's like this for a while,rummbled me out of my seat,when i put tails on it,it sounded like bigfoot! i also gained hp-trq because the tails cause a scaviving effect on the mufflers. i think you would like it better that way.

yea. all my lights flickered on and off, the same as you said, just keep me posted if that fixed your light problem it should be about two of them in that same spot, it should be the one closest to tha left hand side. anyways ima post a video of my p71 with tha 40 series flomasters on it. i hope it fixed your problem, i am pretty confident it did

the circuit breaker is where the fuses are in the inside on driver side under stering wheel. its one of the silver looking things, it kinda looks like a fuse itself but bigger, but they are just a 3 dollar part at any parts store. The old one i had was an 18amp i just went along and bought an 20amp, just so happy dont have to woring about my headlights anymore. mines were doing the same thing, everything was going out ,dash,tailights,side,and head. but know i have an intake manifold leak $400!

let me guess you have the same headlight problem as i had right the whole light flickering issue well do you have the original owners manual to the car cause if you do its the number 12 in the fuse box. i replaced mine with a 30 amp breaker. let me know

well what year is your car if its 03 and newer then the breaker would probly be under the hood but if your car is like mine 99 then it would be under the dash so if your still having this problem after you try replacing the breaker under the hood if its a 03 or newer then maybe its the lighting control modual get back with me and let me know.

i am having the same problem with my p71 headlights cutting on and off, they will work about 30 min, then click off, its getting annoying. but i think its the relays in the lcm(lighting control module)the relays are rated at 10amps,but there are 8 or more amps giong through them, making them hot and shutting lights off. a new lcm runs about $345 on ebay, dont wont to spend that money for a part that they should have had a recall on

The issue with the lights is not the lighting control module my dad works on police cars and we've changed out the modules but the problem still acurred i beleive the problem is fords lovely wiring,because the wiring harness tends to rub through the fender well opening and create a dead short.

they are back up headlights because i have a problem with my headlights they shut off and on and the running lights too its a bit off a problem.

check the wires. my headlights did that, too. its because the wires right by the lights had been spliced to rig up a wig-wag system. after the wig-wag was removed, they just covered the unprotected wire with electrical tape. it worked for years, but the wires began to corrode (electrical tape has a limited lifespan). just cut out the section of bad wire and replace it with fresh wire from any store and it should work fine, assuming that's the problem.
