  • Dumbbell presses are hard as fuck because they require a full range of motion and you can't reduce the impact with your chest muscles like you can with a bar. I can manage about 3 or 4 reps using 45 pounders, and that's more than a lot of folks I see at the gym. Pressing 90 pounds total with dumbbells works you about the same as pressing 200 or so with a bar...and because the dumbbells don't put a shit load of pressure on your shoulders and chest, a rotator cuff injury is less likely.

  • Training for YOUR SPECIFIC goals, requires whats needed to reach it, why would some one use heavier weights than whats needed that would have a negtive effect, the people who laugh at others will never have the mental understanding of how any aspect of training works. This guy looks awesome he is achieving what is needed for his goals. People who get caught up in how much weight they use, often negate any ACTUAL training. this vid= perfect form, control,reps and weight. Props

  • you are not supposed to let them down that low... look for the way pros do it.

  • hes doing it right. he doesnt really gain an advantage by going that low, since when the arms are all the way down the torque generated by the angle doesnt require that much strrength, but as soon as he gets to the normal height, hes doing the exact same thing.

    i bring them down low too. it allows or stabilization before going back up, which makes it much safer without a spotter.
