  • See this is what bothers me, he kills an unarmed man and woman in cold blood, then at the end of the movie they have a memorial painting up for him. Couldn't he have just divorced her?

  • Interesting question. Macy certainly gets fucked over a lot, which may be why he's enjoying being Frank Gallagher on Shameless so much. In that role he fucks over everyone else.

  • Poor Mr. Lundegaard

  • she had it coming

  • They didn't call him "little" Bill for nothing..she was doing what she had to do..

  • the only way to do it when you're whore wife cheats. Even if it's the first time you know of and you love her more than anything. Kill that bitch, then yourself

  • no sound is fucking gay

  • He ended the 70's with a bang, eh mate?

  • fkn copyright

  • I like how he takes the time to lock the car door knowing he's about to kill himself.

  • @showstoppa21 eh prolly force of habit, but nonetheless he prolly could have killed her and gotten away with it . the 70s dint have really good forensics at all. and the type of people hw worked with might stayed silent...lol

  • if bill has to go to prison, the judge should take into account that bill's wife was an extreme slut and knock maybe 60% of any sentence off.

  • @roaringwaterbay YUP LOL!!!!

  • 80s

  • William H Macy is so underrated those days :/

  • As tears Go By fits with this scene

  • this must be a master piece, i mean it, never get tired of this film and have the greatest perfomances i ever seen in my short life, loved this film, Mark Whalberg deserves an oscar for his perfomance...

  • It's so weird to watch this scene without the audio. I end up focusing on the minutest visual cues William Macy gives to understand what's up.

  • Chris Benoit like moment!

  • nice guys finish last.

  • Macy's one of my favorites. Did he ever get the teeth braces?

  • Funny how he locks the door to the car like everything's perfectly normal.

  • thats what it must be like when your girlfriend/wifes a pornstar...hell even a stripper when ur not around.

  • bitch was getting cocked but dude loaded on two whores : D

  • what song is this in the background

  • Why must every character William H. Macy plays get fucked over?

  • HEY BILL I BEEN THERE TOO, SHIT HAPPENS MY EX-KATHY WEBB RAN-PUT ON ME TOOK HER MONEY 47,000 TO SOUTH CAROLINA TO SMOKE CRACK,, SHIT IT HURT, BUT I WOULD NOT SHOT MYSELF A YEAR LATER I AM STILL IN SCHOOL ANS SHE IS SOMEWERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA %$#UCKING a^%$#ICK, FOR CRACK,,, AT FIRST SHE MADE CORNBREAD BIGGS

  • Have workprint - this scene is alternative and has real sex

  • I read in a William H. Macy interview that this shot took 4 hours to set up and they just did 1 take of it(No coverage).. 4 FUCKING HOURS for 1 shot! But its totally worth it cuz it came out amazing..

  • I feel so sorry for Little Bill!

  • it's really cool how they filmed Macy walking back and forth in one long shot. Good job P.T Anderson for making this movie

  • Great flick!

  • 80s

  • I don't blame him, I mean his wife had an ass in her cock!

  • Just goes to show you can't turn a Ho into a Housewife why? Cuz Ho's dont act right...thats why!!!

  • Just calmly relocks his car door. LOL.

  • don cheadle's character was freakin ridiculous!!!!

  • Happy New year!

  • I love william h gacy!!!!!!!!! Such good actingin this movie

  • Paul Thomas Anderson is genius film maker. Using this particular song to build tension towards the suicide scene. Also extremely well-acted by William H. Macy. You can see the depression and despair written all over his face without him barely saying a word.

  • what is the song in the background, anyone?

  • @USOA The Watts 103rd St Band is the group. The name of the song is named "Do Your Thing."

  • This is done in one shot, right? Impressive

  • Always important to make sure you lock your car before a murder/suicide.

  • LONG TAKES FTW

  • I just realized that it was all one shot until after he shoots his wife. Theres PT Anderson for you:)

  • I liked hearing the way this scene stunned test audiences who were roaring in laghuter through the movie before this scene. The whole movie was great, although it took heavy dramatic license on the 70s porn industry (it was actually worse, ending with John Holmes spreading AIDS and a house full of people dead.) Paul T. Anderson is one of the few people who doesn't suck ripping off a different guy-- Robert Altemen... In fact, I like seeing "Boogie Nights" and "Short Cut" back to back.

  • He just got tired of being stepped on and did what he needed to do.

  • it sucks bill didn't get to enjoy the 80's lol

  • Such a stylish film. The way Anderson works the camera is amazing.

  • Ah, I hated this for little Bill, one of the most emotionally troubled characters in this movie. Just about everyone took poor Bill for granted-for instance, after Bill makes the infamous wife with a butt in her cock statement to the chubby camerman, the cameramn waddles over for a look or a peice - though his botomless-pit vagina'd wife was the worst. She not only cheated on the man, but she belittled him while doing it. Heck, Bill's name fit well, because he was constantly belittled.

  • Did she have an ass in her cock again!?!

  • I like how when the colonel gets bitch slapped his glasses fly into the toilet haha

  • I love William H. macy

  • It's a shame he shot himself. His wife got what she deserved, though.

  • funny the little details that you notice once you know what is gonna happen : I mean what's the point of closing the door of your car when you re gonna blow your head off in less than 1 minutes ?

  • @nedalnekbrad It's what people do.

  • One of the many finest scenes in Boogie Nights.

The best two scenes for me remain the drug deal gone bad sequence and the downward spiral sequence focusing on intercuts between Dirk returning to prostitution and Jack and Rollergirl roughing up a man for insulting and harassing both characters in a limo.

If Paul Thomas Anderson and Tarantino were pit against each other in a fight, PTA would win, hands down. Sue me.

  • ONE TAKE. Awesome.

  • Boogie Nights is unquestionably a masterpiece. In my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

  • I would have shot the bitch as well, but not myself. He should have waited till after the party and done it where there was no witnesses then disposed of the carcase out in the sticks.

  • @humpyhustler

Probably the best course of action, yeah.

  • Damn, now i remember why I use to love this movie so much. Its truely an original. Macy is a great actor.

  • This scene should go through every the head of every man who finds out his wife is fucking another guy. Then, think of what he should have done:

    1. Grabbed a camera

    2. Snapped a couple of incriminating pictures

    3. Divorce her and use the pictures in court to show why she should get NOTHING

    4. Move on and quit being a punk

  • paul thomas anderson is amazing

  • I wonder which one he shot twice...

  • @DJOctopus14 Judging by the Shadows, I'd say her boyfriend.

  • @DJOctopus14 I take that back, he shot his wife twice.

  • i love this movie. this is better than the scene in goodfellas when they go through the nightclub. i hate to admit it.

  • i would probobly do the same thing if i kept catching my wife doing that except for doing myself as well

  • william h macy makes an incredible ass of himself and everyone knows it. thats why hes always gets fucked

  • sad but so good :(

  • Paul Thomas Anderson and his 1 camera shot, fucking amazing. Best director of this generation.

  • @TheRealV i completely agree.

  • the camera follows bill throughout the entire scene only leaving him for a second at the end when we see the party goers reaction to the gun fire, great scene, great steady cam work, notice that the music's tempo increasing towards the end, notice how bill locks his car door after he has taken the gun from the car, its almost humerous, its like the viewer is on the shoulder of william macy, its a technique PTA uses a lot and i love it. peace Scotland.

  • It's pretty fucked up how he ruined everyone's New Years like that.

    3.. 2.. 1... HAPPY.. brain splatter.

  • one of the most underrated 90's movies. real classic if u ask me. between the acting, story and direction its a masterpiece

  • yer your right elgrang1 he is the man!

  • fucking awesome scene, Bill is THE man!!

  • This long shot seems to be a tribute to Goodfellas where the camera follows Henry and Karen from out the street through the hallways and into the restaurant... this one goes from the outside, into the house, outside again, and back into the bedroom...classic. Best film of 1997.

  • It's cool that little Bill shot some fuckers and saved them from the shitty 80's.

  • I regret not ringing in 2010 like this. Oh well, there is always 2020

  • @RichV20 don't do that

  • I love how it's all one continuous shot

  • btw the song playing is Do Your Thing-C.Wright & The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band. watch?v=5u_cB6zANXo

  • He locks the car door because at that point he doesn't know hes going to shoot himself. You can see after he kills his wife he walks out with regret all over his face and can't handle the gravity of what he just did. Then he smiles thinking "fuck it I'm just gonna end it all right now".

  • @plhearn regret? why? bitch got a nice projectile into her dirty cunt and loved the last feeling of something the size of bill's penis entering and exiting her.

  • He's like: "That's the last piece of ass any of us will get!"...."don't forget to lock the car up" I wonder if he put the first two in his wife and severely wounded the guy.

  • I think it is very impolite to kill 3 guests and yourself at a friend's new year's eve party.

  • @seanr456 3 GUESTS and HIMSELF?....i was thinking that there was just 2 dead guests and Macy.....wow!...a Motherfucking TRIO!....NICEEE ;D

  • If he is about to them and himself, why does he bother to lock the door in the car before?

  • @BrianBraunMitman: Maybe because 1) he doesn't want anyone to steal it, 2) it's a red herring so we don't see his death coming.

  • you can say what you want, but the mace man went out with the biggest fuckin grin on his face after killin that whore and the faceless tool fuckin her

  • @Aphasia17 Hell yea fucking dirty whore should of got her vagina sewn shut her eye balls gauged out with an ice cream scoop and 10000 little cuts to slowly bleed to death after having her tits cut off.

  • @SynValorum1 he went out with his boots on.

  • but why would you marry a porn star to begin with? its kind of like he was asking for trouble.

  • A penis would be a nice snack right now

  • you clipped the title card right after that reads: "80s"

it's like, this is all going to hell now.

  • 1:24 Little bill hatches a plan when the scatting kicks in.

  • this film contains the greatest camera work in the history of film.

  • he shoulda just shot her and him then left

  • Such a sick tracking shot!!!!!

    One of my favorite movies!!

  • impressive scene, all in one single shot

  • For the character of Little Bill, his wife's latest indiscretion was the final straw of humiliation for him.

Loving a woman and knowing full well that she was sleeping around with other men finally chipped away at his last shred of dignity and self respect.

You can see in that moment as he's walking back to the car to get his gun that he has been pushed beyond the point of no return.....

Not that murder is the right thing to do mind you!

Kudos to William H Macy's brilliant work......

  • The poor guy could just not take anymore, what could he do.

  • Great performance by Macy. I totally dig how he looks just utterly defeated and sad right after he shoots them and then gives everyone a little smile right before he kills himself. There was a lot of different feelings going on in his head for a few short seconds. I can't say I blame him for going out not without one last smile.

  • Fuck Warner.

  • Good ol WMG preventing us from being able to enjoy art...hypocrites!!!

  • little bill knew he would never survive hardcore prison, which he would have been sent to , no doubt. so he took his chances with death....

  • Actually, he was horribly depressed to begin with & it made him suicidal as well as homicidal.

  • anyone know the songs playing in the movie at this part

  • "Driver's Seat" by Sniff 'n' the Tears.

  • Once again, FUCK WMG!!

  • The best part of the movie! Goddamit!

  • Esse filme é do caralho e Kim Cattral neste filme está demais, bem cachorra mesmo.

  • That slut wife of his would've had a cap busted in her ass after the FIRST time of being caught fucking behind my back if I were him!

  • Comment removed

  • yea but you just murdered 2 people thats probably life i rather be dead then rot in jail or die in jail

  • i woulda just shot her she wasnt worth killing hisself over ...what the hell why did she have to fuck everywhere she went

  • New Years Eve!!!

  • God, one wonders what goes through the character's head during that long walk to the car and back.

  • well i know what went through his head after that long walk

  • I like that he locks the car door lol

  • LOL!

  • HA your trying to ound smart but it back fired

  • PTA has got the moves. all one scene

  • way to bring in the new year. BANG BANG BANG

  • macy is so pathetic in this movie lol

  • what the fuck??

  • you got erectile disfunction problems, dude.

  • Seek professional help, or get your G.E.D.

    Preferrably both.

  • yikes

  • 80s

  • this is one of my favorite scenes in cinematic history. im a sucker for long continuous shots and this was done beautifully.

  • Noticed how he locked the car back up.Then goes in after killing his wife and wife's fuck buddy, kills himself...

  • ????? what

  • William macy always seems to get these roles, he had a similar role in magnolia where you couldnt help feeling sympathy for his character. I really warm to him, he's a great actor. Paul Andersen is a fantastic director

  • even in 'wild hogs' however, something nice comes out of it. he's really good in that movie. i have it on dvd. please come see my page.

  • murder is wrong ... unless you have a whore as a wife who fucks any dick on site ... she deserved it ... what a way to bring in the new year

  • What a way to bring in the decade.

  • That was a great scene, I liked how it was shot continueously following him, and I liked how he finally gave his wife what she deserved... but I never imagined he'd turn it on himself! I was totally shocked because his character was just too sweet!

  • it wasn't funny, I would do this by axe and knife:DD

  • Why not just divorce the whore?

  • Why not just kill the whore, whore?

  • Can't say she didn't deserve that. Cold Hearted B****!!!! I just wish he didn't have to die he could have gotten better.

  • dont know about killing myself

  • everybuddy loved and respected lil Bill, except his slut wife. go figure.

  • plunk

  • the first 2 died in 1979 i suppose. . but little bill 1980? would that be accurate?

  • Barely, but yes, Bill bit the dust in 1980.

  • @greentortouise John Hurt is aptly named, Lol!

  • is there another movie that he kills himself like his wife thinks he cheating on him with a young girl?

  • i like how he locks the car door

  • HAHAHAHA! I thought I was the only one who thought that it was pointless!

  • guess he found out how much his stocks dropped....lol

  • i can barely read your awful drivel. STFU and quit the interwebs you cock sucking AIDS spread FAGGOT!

  • You'll read it AGAIN then:

"Second Verse, Same As The First"! Motherfucker.

  • Ah Yes...

Watching the commentary on the DVD, PTA get's very smug about screening this with his friend Amie Mann( who I dig immensely ).

He prattles on about how the audiance was happy at first to see WH Macy kill his wife, and then everybody going quiet when Macy kills himself.

Upon first viewing, my initial reaction and what I would have said QUITE aloud at said screening(upon seeing the "goodbye 70's" banner)is:

"Gee, I wonder if this is where the movie turns dark"?

    Predictable.

  • very shocking. you really didnt see that coming. when i see it in the movies, everyone just froze..

  • Truly THE BEST SCENE in that movie!! He was going into the New Year with a bang!! Good job Mr. Macy!!

  • She also kept on disrepecting her husband in public

  • Did you she her shadow? She was riding another man! She was on top. That's why he shot himself.

  • Wow! Great observation of the shadow Madgamer438.
