I find it amazing, I make virgin coconut oil here in Vanuatu, South Pacific and have 16 ton of coconut shell as waste material a day that can be carbonized into semi-activated carbon with the gases coming off being able to create 750 Kw through steam turbines and only consume 300Kw of this, the rest can be put back into the grid, whom use deisel fuel. All this and I cannot find any backers, that"s what I find amazing.
This is lovely and all, but the swine waste system is economically infeasible without HUGE subsidies from the government. The system produces maybe 65 kW continuously. To make that economically feasible, the system would have to cost maybe $250,000 total AND the local power company would have to agree to buy the power for $0.18 or more per kWh. Instead they spent $1.2 million on the system. No pat on the back for Google. Pat on the back for NC taxpayers......
