A beautiful soundtrack to a fantastic film I have listened to this album many, many times and Ive wondered sometimes if Mark Knopfler scored the music to the scenes in the film or was he just given an idea of what the scenes would be about and took it from there The music fits perfectly I have heard about how a scene or a movie can change someone and I have been skeptical until I saw this movie. Hubert Selby Jr.'s work has to do with having compassion and understanding for people w/problems

@jgyll8mt I agree,unfortunately no one else in my family does and the film has long disapeared from my shelves. My son and his wife now live in Brooklyn and boy has it changed. before they were allowed to but their apartment they had to appear before a committee of neighbours and satisfy them that they wouldn't lower the tone of the neighbourhood by moving in!
