I wish the females wuere as beautifully coloured as the males, on of my you males i bred came out beautiful, orang and black stripey tail, white body with patches of neon pink, green and blue, beautiful.. guppys are such relaxing stress free fish... I just have one problem, one of my females has been pregnant for about 4 months now.. how long can she hold those babies in for?
people that are so worried about the guppies getting eaten that is a large tank and those are small guppys they have these floating plants that they call fry savers and the females will go hang out by there normally and the fry have enough instinct to hide, i would have given it 3 months before it would become overpopulated
umm u might wana put the pregnant guppie into a smaller tank or breeder trap because the other fish will eat the fry and u might wana keep an eye on the fancy tail he is alot slower than the normal finned guppies so he might no get to food fasternuf ohk but nice tank the water is so clear good job:)
I got some guppies to breed so I can use the babies as feeders for my baby FH. That WAS the original plan, but I started to like the baby guppies and couldn't bring myself to do it. Now I have a tank for my FH and another tank for my guppies. Lol
you should get some plants that are really vegetated to float at the top or be at the bottom. The adults will eat the babies if the babies have no where to hide since it looks like you won't be seperating?
I breed Red Crayfish and Guppies Cause I am a big fan of Crayfish and love to have them in my big tank cause they clean it for me. Can only have 1 Male and 1 Female in a Tank. and the Guppies Breed to. And when I have too much, I catch some and release them.
Mike Shinoda acutally watched this vid... that's what he wrote about it on his blog: "Finally, the perfect music placement for Linkin Park: a guppy breeding tank video." lol
they stay on top of the water when the oxygen levels in the fish tank are very low.
they usally swin very slowly when the water is extremly cold for them (less than 23 celsius) they should be in 25 celsius, I dont know how much is in your scale but go to google and convert it.
suggestion: you should buy a big peice of black card and cut it to size, and then put it on the back of the tank. The male's tail will look great against it :)
There is nothing wrong with a plain tank. Although having plants will assist in maintaining your babies, Moss is a better option. You can purchase it from your local pet store. If your tank conditions are extremely well you may end up with the moss tanking over your tank. So keep watch on it. As for the babies being eaten, guppies as are most fish are canabilistic in nature. I use breeding nets as well as a plastic breeder that can also be purchased from your local pet store.
do u have ANY idea wat u are gettin into? breeding guppies is way to easy! and thats not a good thing...u have to keep them seperated, and many fry will die becuz of eating them if u do not monitor the mother when she is in a serperate tank...its a lot of responsiblity and they can have up to 500 fry in a batch...(thats if the breeding was very succesful) just a warning.
lets see. black gravel with on white rock & a couple of plants? yeah, that shit sucks. you need more plants & probably some tetras to give it some life.
Hi mate good luck with your guppies, you can feed your fry with microworms as well not brineshrimps only, there more less work to do then with brineshrimps...

danceboy101 2 years ago
actually the white on black looks pretty good, but agreed he does need more plants
PSNjizzcake 2 years ago
Yes more grassy breeder plants. The fish are all much better off with them. If its just a breeder tank then I wouldn't put any tetras in there.
tmaxxman33 2 years ago
