If you put a magnet on the motor part the water will "spit out" faster. The magnets increase the rpm of the motor.

You measure the length, depth , height of the tank and then check on the tank chart that comes with you're tank.

If you haven't got the chart still look online.

Or you could get a 1 gallon measuring jug, fill it up and pour water in the tank till it's full.

Then just count how many gallons it needed! :)

Don't be dumn this filter sucks that why it's so cheap buy a marine land penguin biowheel silent as a whisper way Better filter than aqueon so get a penguin and let your fish live longer not die in two days

thats not a whisper filter. Whisper filters have bio grids. To me, it seems to look alot like a top fin filter. Also top fin cartridges look like tetra cartridges, but tetras look more puffy and on the clip it should sat tetra on it. on your cartridge, it doesn't seem to have a brand on it

I have the whisper power filter 30 and it works like a charm we painstakingly tested it after 10 years and it only was 5 gallons slow of the prommised 145 gallons per hour iv kept goldfish alive for 2 years at a time.

the whisper filter doesn't pour alot of water because theres something clogged in the tube of where the water goes in the filter and also my in-tank 10 gallon filter cartridge does not rip when i put pressure when cleaning it and i reuse them for a while till they eventually go bad you probably get the cheap filter cartridges or something

i have one of those with a african clawed frog,pleco and apple snail but my tanks cloudy. its a great filter but i probably need to buy new sand since i kinda fed my frog alot becasue at first he wouldnt eat, but its silent and it does great.

I have the same filter for my ten gallon tank, except i bought a 30 gallon filter for it... This filter is the BEST filter I've ever experienced, and I've owned fish for about 6 years. These help my fish live longer, and DOES A GREAT JOB of keeping the water crystal clear!

well my whisper started acting like yours in my 15 gallon goldfish tank i actually had two pumps on it the other was an aqua tech 5-15 both got to where they were barely pumping and i cleaned them and when i researched i like what i read about the marineland penguin 200B my filter should be in today and im setting up my 30 once the filter gets here =D but just to let you know last night i took the whisper apart and cleaned the crap out of it and actually ran hot water through it and now it works

I have had a Whisper 5-15 gallon filter for a long time and I just clean our the intake with a pipe-snake and its good as new. The newer versions have a BIO-foam to hold bacteria. I trust the Penguin BIO-wheel series with my tanks because they pump alot of water, but they don't suck up the babies.

Why is my tank so dirty!!!! yours is so clean, if i leave my tank for more than a week it's filthy, i have 2 Goldfish and 3 other little fish, my tank is 60 litre. every week i clean it out and i cannot get all of the dirt out of the gravel in one go, there's just to much, i am thinking of upgrading my filter so i can keep the tank more clean and i might buy some alge eating fish, how do you keep yours so clean??

whisper filters are horrible , everyone has diff taste but me personally i have 3 tanks , 75g and 2-30g's and i use " AquaClear's on mine and they are absolutely fantastic !!!!

I have the same filter on my 10 gallon tank and I've used if for about 2-3 years; still works like a charm. It was the stock one with the aquarium kit but my brother (who inherited the tank and all) still uses it for his community aquarium and the water flow is still strong.
