Excuse my stupid question. But, is the snare you use in ths video the MAPEX 14X5,5" SPECIAL PANTHER MAPLE ? Just asking - because of the word 'special'. Are u using Remo UT Drum Heads ??? greetings*
dOOd, change the head on the 10 inch tom! or the heads on the 12, 14 and 16! that the toms matches together!!! now the 10inch sounds like a effect-tom or a rototom!
Does anyone know how to get rebound on these drums? I have a 14x5.5 and I just can't get any rebound on it. It's so annoying. I play rudiments fine on my HQ pad with a cloth folded over FOUR times, but I just can't get the same feel on the snare. Please help. Cheers
Well his drums are miced (then processed so that really isn't the sound of the snare.... :) You should play the snare at guitar center or a local drum store in your area ..... Nice snare.. :)
Hey, I'm guessing the rest of the shells are mapex orion and in which case thats a very simmilar setup to mine, same snare, 8", the awesome 10" tom, and 14".
sounds great. I'm not sure why people are against the reverb, I'll admit for my taste its over the top but hey the snare sounds awesome like that! also its not like its in a mix with other instruments on this recording!
Man, you are awesome, great hand technique and feel!
That tomsound of yours is exacly what i am going for myself, but i just cant get it.
I tune the top heads a little above the wrinklestage (between 40 and 45 on a tensionwatch) and the bottomhead a little higher.
I use remo ambassador (beaterskins top and bottom) and thats the best sound i have managed to get, but it`s nothing compared to that sweet sound of yours :P
Can you please give me some pointers on what you do to get that tomsound?
what you think of crashes in the sig series, like you dont have one, im wondering if there is any problem with them, and i wanted to ask... what bottom head u are using in your snare? haha i have like 4 years without using a 14' snare.. and i have one, that came with my mapex m pro... good playing. keep it up!
nice. that snare is over powering but in a good way. i love your cymbal set up, they all sound really good with each other. what hi hats are you using here?
If you played Purple rain, i'd said ok but come on man.
Way to much reverb
